Good morning! How is everyone today? I am excited because this weekend we are going to Myrtle Beach for one last thrill ride before school starts!!

Ugh, don't remind me.

I need some information to answer questions inquiring minds want to know-- mostly my non-Dis family members who quietly roll their eyes and mumble"does she ever go anywhere or think about ANYTHING else???"

1. Where did the Nanahead name come from?
2. Why the monkey?
3. Are there really people who are crazy about Disney as you are????

Nevermind the third question ... I just quiestly roll my eyes and mumble, "isn't everyone with a bit of sense and adventure addicted to Disney, too????"

HOT,HOT, HOT outside but it is getting close to 5o'clock somewhere.... time to have a personal little celebration!

I drive him crazy with my cruise "nonsense" but he's better this time than he ever has been before. I think he's actually excited about going... just doesn't want to admit it.

Hi, all...

Ron, nice Mojito pic...we had somewhat similar cancellation story, except that EVERYTHING turned out beautifully after we unpacked and repacked for Florida in November instead of the islands. Of course, the Weds night before Thanksgiving, they told me that there was no room at the GF or Poly, but I was convincing (HEAR: LOST MY MIND ON THE PHONE) and ended up with a fab room overlooking Poly Beach.

We used our same CRUISE flights and even met up with another Wilmington family. Of course, they weren't Dis-ers and couldn't quite understand my need to lead the parades, but their DD's LOVED the excitement. I just think "our kind" understands having fun and experiencing magical moments, even if we have to make them happen.

After the trip to the world, we used our 1/2 off the next cruise to book again the next year with many upgrades...love a verandah! I'll never go back.

Also loved the pic of Capt. Mickey and my future son-in-law, Chip. He got down on one knee and proposed to Sarah on board, so I'm saving for our Disney Furrytail wedding. HA! That's there's funny, Bill, I don't care who you are.

I especially loved the hallway pic of Uncle Walt. I have my picture made with him every cruise. It's a strange obsession, but it's mine.

LOVED the pictures! That sand castle was awesome!

I have special beach towels that only go on vacation also. I still have my first towel from WDW...let's see it's about 25 - 30 years old (still in perfect shape just faded).

Like Jeff and family, we head out this evening for FL also. I don't know if I'll be in touch until we get back on September 2. School starts on the 3rd.

Have a great few weeks and I'll catch up later.

I'll try to answer #'s 1 & 2 -- I'm sure Bill, Shell, and Kathy can add to the story. (We may have already been nanaheads by the time Jeff joined up. )

We were originally naming ourselves "wild turkeys" since we sailed right after Thanksgiving. Then, our very own Cruisemutt seemed to have quite an attachment to dancing fruit.

Soon it caught on and we started calling ourselves "nanaheads AND wild turkeys." Tonya even had to change the shirt design a bit! Somehow, the "nana-head" thing stuck and we started adding lots of to our posts.

Kathy, the whip-master, started tracking the number of and kept issuing challenges for more.

Alas, here we are; a bunch of people worshipping dancing food!

The monkeys are Bill's newest obsession (since monkeys like bananas. . . )

Now, you have all joined the ranks of the Do you feel ?? Oh wait, you're all part of the DIS family; you understand the mania!!!

Hope that helps explain the situation. . . (probably best to tell people, "it's a long story. . .")

Hello! I'll be cruising on Nov 24 also! I started looking through all the posts to see if anyone has children close in age to mine, but I just can't sift through over 5300 posts!

I have 7 year old twins--boy & girl. Anyone else have children close in age?

My DH & I have cruised on RC, but this will be the kids' 1st cruise. It HAD to be Disney!!!
