OK, one more post this morning before I go tend to my laundry. . .
Christine -- what's the name & address of your restaurant?? A friend of ours is heading to Vegas this week (she goes several times a year) and I told her about your new restaurant! She prefers local places instead of the national chains when she's there, so this sounds like a perfect place for her!
Onto to cruise business:
So far, no specific excursion plans. I have 4 months & 2 days to figure that out.
1. Have we decided if we're going to try to have a cruise meet on the first day? I vote for something around 2:45-3:00ish on Saturday. That seemed to work really well last year. For those of you like my DH, who are squeamish about making definite plans for your vacation (especially when you're trying to settle in on the first day), this time fit in nicely because people had already had a chance to have lunch and explore the ship a bit. This is also a "closed-ended" meeting because the safety drill comes up at 4:00.
2. If we're going to do a cruise meet, are we going to incorporate a gift exchange? I'm 50-50 on this. It worked out quite well last year, but it was an added thing to buy & pack for the trip.
3. I "assume" we'll try to link dinner reservations as the date draws nearer?? For us, that's what made the cruise last year!!! Yes, Shell, you can say, "I told you so," as many times as you want!!!!

As always, you're right!!!!!

(You can direct Bob to this post!!

)
4. We are staying at the Hyatt (in MCO) on Friday night and taking the
DCL bus out to the port on Saturday. There will be a HUGE party at the Hyatt on Friday.
For those of you still on the fence about where to stay, I (and Jeff) will offer this tid bit: the Hyatt is soooooo incredibly convenient. It is literally IN the airport! You gather your bags from the baggage claim, go up one level and you're at the Hyatt. If you take the DCL bus to port, you put your suitcases outside your hotel room at 8:00 a.m. Saturday and head down to the lobby to get on the bus list. You don't have to handle your bags again until you pull them into your stateroom on board!
While at Hyatt/MCO, you can eat in one of their restaurants, or go into the airport food court area. There are several stores and an arcade to help pass time. We had a runway-view room so we spent a lot of time on the balcony watching planes take off & land!
If you have little kids, or have a long travel day on Friday, the Hyatt is a great choice!
Gotta go!
Have a great day!
