11/23/2011 ~ Thanksgiving on the Dream

Welcome frangi!!! Who is traveling in your family?? I am very excited for this cruise!! This will be our 7th DCL cruise. Hopefully more people will join our thread!!!

I see you have already been on the Dream. DId you love it??

Is me and my brothers family. Michael and Regina and his two children 11 and 7 I believe at the time of sailing.

The dream was big. Big. Big. But I had a great time. I enjoyed th e ship very much. Much bigger feeling than the wonder.

Had great table mates for dinner, the shows were good. I loved the golden mickeys. Villains show not so much and the last show was good.

Really enjoyed the detective game. Nassau was Nassau. Cc was very different being on the adult side. Very quiet.

Aqua duck was fun. Rode it many times during the day and at night.

I felt I saw more kids this trip than last time, but it was ok.

Loved the restaurants. Any questions shoot away.

Thanks for the info on the Dream!! Very fun you are traveling with your family!!

Did you get to eat at Remy? We are excited to try it.

If more people join maybe we can have a quick meet to say hi to everyone.

We are leaving for WDW in 11 days for Spring Break.
We are very excited!!!

Have a great week!!

Come on people.....who else is sailing with us???!!!!:goodvibes

Hi All,
We will be joining you on this cruise. We are doing B2B with the 11/20 Dream sailing. We have done several Magic 7 night cruises and look forward to the Dream!
Shirley

Welcome Shirley and family!!!!! I wish we could do a back to back but DD will be a Sr in High school and don't want her to miss too much. She will be in 5 AP classes (she is crazy) so it would be a lot to make up. We are doing another Dream cruise in March of 2012.

Looking at your signature it is you, DH and DS? I have myself, DH DD17 and DS 14.

Can't wait for the cruise. Only 260 more days!!!:thumbsup2

Hi E&BMom

Yes...it will be me, my husband (Peter) and my DS 16 (Matthew). My son will be a junior next year. His school isn't closed during that week either, but he felt he could do the makeup work. He really only misses 2 full days at Wednesday they have an early dismissal at 12noon. He isn't taking that many AP classes but he does take 2 science classes (AP Chem & Honors Anatomy) and AP Calculus next year! That's enough for him and me!
Where in St. Louis do you live? My husband and I lived in Ballwin & Chesterfield for about 3 years in the early 90's. Beautiful place and I met some of my best friends there!

Shirley,

We live in Kirkwood but I grew up in Chesterfield across from Faust Park.

WE thought about doing the b2b and DD was ok missing but there is a huge pep rally and decorating of the halls and fun stuff on Monday and Tuesday. Since she will be a Sr she didn't want to miss that. We had a B2B scheduled this June but she is going to France so picked the Thanksgiving cruise and then we are going March 2012. She will be 18 then so she can go to Remy with us and Palo. She is a huge foodie so she is excited. Now DS is not a huge foodie so it is not a big deal to him.

Can't wait to meet everyone. We leave Friday for WDW. We are excited!! We are having CRAZY weather. They said we might have a few flurries today but we have like 3 inches!!!!!! Wed it is supposed to be in the 60's and Thurs in the 70's!!!!!!!

Hey Everyone! just got back from the Mexican Riviera trip on the Wonder, and HAD to book another trip...so we're doing Thanksgiving on the Dream. DH plus DS (20) and DD (17), and me. :cool1: I am looking forward to sharing the excitement of getting ready to go on this trip with people who are equally enthusiastic.

Best Regards,

Belle

Welcome to the cruise!!!! Cruising is very addictive!!:goodvibes Only 252 more days!!!

Hey E & B Mom!

I am sooo addicted to cruising now. We are pikers compared to other families...this will be our fourth cruise, but I can see why people love it. We are going to WDW on the 20th and will stay in the Saratoga Springs resort, and then go to the Dream on the 23rd. Looking forward to the whole week.

Belle

Belle....we love cruising. This will be our 7th. We are flying in just the night before and staying at the airport Hyatt. I wish we could come earlier. It looks like our DD are the same age!! That would be nice if they hang out. DD has made a bunch of friends she still talks to on our other cruises. DS will be 14 so hopefully there will be someone his age.

We head out tomorrow for Universal to do Harry Potter and Monday we move over to Beach Club until Sunday!!!! We are soooooooooo excited!!!

Ooooh. Storm along bay. I am so jealous. I could live at the Beach Club...except for wanting to live on a cruise. Sigh. I hope you enjoy your trip.

We will definitely have to get those girls together on our cruise. DD is always looking for new buddies. :thumbsup2

I love the Magic and Wonder so much :lovestruc , especially the Wonder, that I can't imagine a ship double their size would be an improvement. We decided to give it a try, but I am concerned. I have been reading Dream trip reports hoping to allay my fears. Now I am looking at the trip as an experiment and a fix for my cruise addiction.

Belle

We love Beach Club too!! We stayed last year and had a great time.

I am a little nervous but still think it will be a blast. I do love the Magic and Wonder. We can always switch back if the Dream is not for us....but I'm sure it will be!!

We leave for the airport shortly. Have a great week everyone!!!!

The dream is big and it took a couple of days to get use to her. Can't wait till this November when I sail on her again.

Hi Frangi,
Thanks for telling us about the Dream. We're looking forward tro it. At the same time, I am worried about the size. We have always had a late dinner and gone to shows early. Then we do the adult entertainment after dinner. Is that schedule still possible? Are the "night clubs" too crowded? Is there a show between the stage show and the late dinner, like on the Wonder??? I guess we will just have to wait. Belle

Looking forward to sailing on this cruise with everyone...

We have sailing the Magic/Wonder on Thanksgiving before and it has been great everytime.

DH - Larry
Me - Wendy
DD - Lindsey age 12 at sailing..

We cant wait for our first family cruise! The kids dont even know they are going. We are going to spend a couple days in the park before we go. I have to start reading up on everything we need to do to get ready. Any suggestions that we should do with our 2 boys (9 and 7 at sailing) would be appreciated.

I think your boys will love the cruise. There is so much to do. More than that, you will have some time for YOU. It's going to be great!!! :thumbsup2

Sadly, I will not be on your cruise, but I'd love to lurk and read trip reports (hint, hint). We are booked for the Thanksgiving 2012 cruise. If you decide to do it again next year, please swing by the 2012 cruise meet thread. Enjoy your planning!
