11/15/09 Wonder

That is so cool to see the two ships side by side.

How is everyone doing? We doing pretty good here. We have been really busy this past week or so. DH found out last weekend that for the most part his job is secure:woohoo: He also got a raise believe it or not:yay: which he should have gotten last year. but he God knew when we needed the extra!!!! We are almost done Christmas shopping. Just a few more toget. Need to find a WII though. :lmao: It think we may have to order online. We will see. Can not wait to see DS(9) in the Christmas pagnet tomorrow night. He has a solo! Tonight we off to dinner with our church family.. MMMM some good food can not wait.

Well hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Good luck on the WII. When I went to the Base Exchange there were three sitting there. I looked at them, walked away, & then changed my mind. Good thing I went right back. As I was standing there (holding the WII in my hand) 2 people came up & took the ones that were there. Another lady came up & was totally disappointed there weren't any more.

Ok, I was shopping around and a guy came up to me & said I should keep my eye on my cart because someone might come up & take that one. Now that shocked me. Wow!

The one thing about my job (prison guard at a maximum state prison) is total job security. Also, thank goodness for unions so we will get our raise in March. They were negotiating for months & had to get a arbitrator.

HERE'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE

Good morning. Well the update on the WII. :headache: could not find it anyway even made phone calls to other stores no luck.. So DH and I went on Ebay!!! Wow we had a wonderful time shopping on ebay.. Not only did we get the WII but we also got the WII fit!!! I have been a shopping fool this weekend. Kids almost done. I got my Christmas, Bday, Valent., and Anniv. gift already. Instead of getting a new camera, we bought a video camera. :cool1: After we use it today, it gets put away for 10 months...:woohoo: 10 months and counting

we just got back from the wierdest Christmas shopping weekend ever.
I didn't really have much to do, but DH had not even started.
We had a winter storm in our area on Thursday night with snow and sleet.
After work Friday we left and headed right to Manchester NH. (which is about 2.5 hours from our house).
We got to our hotel at around 6:45 and they had NO POWER.
The storm that was snow and sleet for us was freezing rain for them.
Because so many people were w/o power all the hotels in the area that did have power were booked solid. So we either had to stay there or go home.
We figured we would just go to the mall and then head home... But the mall was closed too. So we decided to stay, in the dark with our glow stick....
It may be 2-3 days before power is restored fully.

I can see the humor in it now, but at the time, I was pretty upset.
We had big plans for getting dinner and relaxing in the room and watching a movie, then getting up and going shopping in the morning.
Walmart had power, but was out of pretty much everyting that created light except for a $45.00 flashlight. No thanks. I'll stick with my glow stick for that!

I swear I will not live in any place that is cold when I retire. You have just added to the conviction.

Figures Walmart had power.

Sounds like quite an adventure.

I like winter. My joints don't like it, but I do. I think when we retire we will be heading to North Carolina where hubby grew up. He really hates Maryland, but because of my oldest daughter he stayed here..

Still looks like we are the only ones on the ship!!!!

At our ladies Christmas party at church we do the white elephant gift and oh my gosh it gets so funny. We laugh so hard...

I need to cook dinner for my Pastor and his wife and parents & kids tomorrow night. He had surgery so I offered to cook dinner.. :goodvibes

I hope to have all the buying done by tonight.:thumbsup2

We are looking forward to it! We have some real Hams in our group, so I'm sure it will be interesting! (DH is one of them ;) )

One year we actually had a white elephant, oh my gosh did we laugh so hard on that one. We do have this one gift, its a home made thing is the best way thing to call it, anyway whoever gets has to bring it back next year. We usually put $$$ & candy in it. So that is the big one everyone now would like to get. lol Only cause it has the $$$ in it..

:cool1: I am finally done all my Christmas shopping:cool1: :dance3: Now comes time for the wrapping part that I hate.:headache:

Well off and running to the food store to get Pastors dinner a going and my hubby's. They all just love my Chicken pot pie.. mmmmmmm I'm ready for it..

I may not get a chance to get back online later on tonight (got to much to do) :lmao: so I'm going to tell you all now. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hope you both have a wonderful Christmas:grouphug:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE. The kids where up at 5:30am:eek: now they are playing with the wii and having some fun. then we off to grandma's for more fun! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Day!:cool1:

How was everyones Christmas. The family and I had a wonderful Christmas. I'm going to download some pics today or this weeked. DH put up the kids trampoline at my parents house and then all of them was in it at once.:rotfl2: wait till you see some pictures of that.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and got what you wanted. I got all I wanted and then some.

Xmas was definitely a family day. I got a kick out of the majority of the gifts I gave were used right away. (worn that is)
The food was awesome (Turkey) My son-in-law is an extraordinary cook.
The prison served roast beef since they had turkey for thanksgiving.

One of the first holidays of this sort that football wasn't on all of the tv's. My granddaughter loves House. They gave her 3 DVD's of him. Plus he is on all day today. I never watched him before. Just like I never watched NCIS before. Now, I'm hooked on that too.

The cruise I was supposed to go on leaves tomorrow. Sure wish I could have gone on that. I just loved the Western Carribbean & NYE to boot. I will miss following the discussion forum. We had gone on a xmas 2005 cruise, also. Plus, we had hung out at WDW a couple of times.

Our cruise should be interesting, though. Never did the Nassau one.

Today, I started gathering all of my pics & souveniers & my mom's pics that have been kept in storage containers & separating them & hopefully put them in books. That should keep me totally busy.

Sounds like you all had fun as well.

I can not wait til our cruise I'm going crazy. I bough DH a pair of Mickey PJ's and when he opend them Christmas he started :rotfl: He said I will where them in the room only. :rotfl2: I need to start shopping for cloths for us all now. The kids have grown so much from last summer nothings going to fit.

I hope we get some more people on this thread..
