11/06/11 Dream 4 Day

Some of the fine folks on this thread will be heading off to LA for the repo to Vancouver and/or the first Alaska cruise! :woohoo: Expect things to liven up when we get back! In the meantime, as our pal Mickey would say, "See Ya Real Soon!"

Hi! Had must-use DVC points so we just booked this cruise. :yay:

We're Andrea and Greg, 50s empty nesters from Northern Virginia. This will be our fifth Disney cruise (finally Gold!) and our 22nd cruise overall. Our last DCL cruise was the September 2010 Westbound Transatlantic on the Magic which was a total BLAST including a huge Champagne Girls party.

Looking forward to meeting all you DISers on this cruise.

Andrea

Welcome!

I guess you know that you have to complete 5 cruises to get gold. We were just on a Mexican Rivera cruise that was our 5th, real bummer because they announce the 2012 while we were on board but not eligible for the early booking.

Hello Andrea, I lived in NoVA for 32 years!

Just sent a request into my TA to change me to late dining and the request ERAA dining rotation. I am pretty sure I can get late dining, will just have to see about the rotation. This will be my 6th cruise on DCL, unless something comes up between next week when I get off number 5 and Nov! Gold does not happen until you finish your 5th cruise, sorry.

Late dining is easy to get. Regarding rotation I have no idea. Besides, I'm leaving that to Jackie.

I was on early because of Jackie, but I can't deal with all the rushing around to get ready that early. I like to dress of dinner, hair done, make up on and all that. I would love to see the antics that will no doubt happen in that area, but beauty first!

Jackie is on late (for both legs) but the family on the 4 day is on early....that's a battle still to be fought! :lmao:

I think the kids would be more interested in the SHOWS than the dining...therefore should be going to the early show in case they can't stay up for the late one. Food can be procured any time from assorted locations, though dining in Animators would be a highlight.

.

Well, that makes sense. I think you are right about the kids, and one other thing to mention to the parents, the clun CMs will come get the kids at some poit during late seating so adult time will be not cut short.

Has anyone figured out what our 120 day date is? I am never sure whether to count the first day of the cruise as Day 1 and go backward or start counting back the day before the cruise.:confused3

Hi Patti :yay: It is August 8th which you can also find out when you log into your Castaway Club account. :woohoo:

Thank you Tracy. I didn't even think about logging in to CC. BTW my daughter will be 11 on the cruise along with her cousin (boy)also 11 and cousin (girl) 12. Maybe we could do a kids meet on the first day. We did one on the Baltic cruise and DD found a friend for the entire cruise.

Just a bit over 6 months now, Getting so excited, just got home from our Easter Disney World trip where I did a lot of shopping for fish extender things!

Sounds good to me Patti. We haven't told our DS's yet about this upcoming trip :rolleyes1

How wonderful! Me and DH are going down for a short trip alone in September. Jet Blue had a sale a week or so ago so we thought we would take a quick trip. Will try and scout out for some things.

It's been fun seeing all the pics and videos of the Wonder in SF last weekend. I hope all are having fun.

Six months from tomorrow we'll be getting on the Dream as we start on Nov 3rd!

Just checking in. I have so much research to do! This is my first Disney Cruise and I am trying to figure out which shore excursions to book and when I can book and all those fun details. I will be sure to log in to my account as I hear there is a lot of good information to be found there! I hope everyone is well and is getting excited for the cruise! As soon as I get back from my trip to Hawaii next week I will be in full planning mode!

Later,
Sarah

Thanks for the Welcome! We've been in Reston since 1987. Where did you live in No Va?

We'll be on late dining also. I might have missed it but is anyone organizing a DIS late dining section for roll call? We'd like to be a part of it.

:cheer2::dance3::yay:WELCOME!:yay::dance3::cheer2:

I'll add your info to the rouster. ALWAYS glad to have another Champagne Girl on board!

Again, thanks for the Welcome! Have my pink boa and tiara ready for another Champagne Girls party!

Wow, another Welcome! Yes, I know the 5th cruise moves you up to gold; I'm just happy to have that 5th cruise booked!

Hope everyone who was on the Repo and/or Alaska cruise had a WONDERFUL time and will tell us all about it.

I'll try to check in regularly. Have a great weekend and a lovely Mother's Day! :flower3:

I lived in Springfield for 2 years, 62-65, then West Springfield till 1968, then Lorton, all the way down to the Occoquan River, then several places in Alexandria, still FFX CTY, then Burke, West Springfield and finally Sterling. We moved from there in 1992 to GA. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Reston Town Center. When I was in HS we did a study of Reston as it was supposed to be one of the first planned self reliant communities. I always say NoVA is a great place to be from!

This is my 1st GOLD CC cruise!!!! Yay for me, I can do Remy on OBC.

You live in Reston? So does my siter, on Golden Eagle drive, and she is trying to get on this cruise too! I lvoe going to Reston to visit her, such a nice town center and just a lot of nice neighbors etc.

wow, how funny, I lived in Springfeild too, went to Burke elementary school in 1970-1972. what a small world.

This is our first gold cruise too! We moved all over though growing up, dad worked for federal government and then as an adult my husband gets transferred all over too, currently we live in Cincinnati, but my husband is up for a promotion in Orlando so we might be there next month, and like I wrote my sister moved to Reston in, she has lived there since 2006 so it is nice to visit her there. We remember when we lived in Springfeild it was being planned, love the town center.
