Hi all,
we know of loads of places on I Drive that will be showing the 10th June match England vs Paraguay but does anyone know of anywhere on Disney property? Cheers! :thumbsup2

I would be very surprised if it's not showing at the ESPN Sports Bar at the Boardwalk.

oh that would seriously be fantastic! We are staying at the Yacht Club!!! :cool1: Don;t fancy having to drive up to I-Drive and not be able to have a few bevvy's during the game LOL :rolleyes1

They have loads of TVs in there, dominated by US Sports but they will show World Cup games I am sure, and they always have Sky on too when I have been in there.

Do you think the time maybe a prob? I think it will be on at about 10am over in Orlando.

If you have to go to I-Drive I suspect the Cricketers Arms at the Mercado will be showing it. I've certainly seen them advertising football matches in the past.

Quite often you have to pay to get in.

I think the ESPN Sports Bar will still show it, there is also a place on I-drive called 'Front Row', they will defiinitely have it Live.

I wouldn't worry about missing any matches - England will be out by the end of the group stages!!!

If you cant even beat the mighty Northern Ireland, what hope have you got in the World Cup?? :rotfl:

Ha Ha, very good point and you are probably right! :)

By the way, which Group are Nothern Ireland in again? ;)

As the World Cup will be live on ESPN, it should be on in every bar and restaurant that has TVs. Certainly the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk will be a great venue, but even places like the Backwater Bar (next to Confisco's in islands of Adventure), Alchemy Bar (in the Lost Continent at IoA) which both have TVs, you should be able to see the games. We know Raglan Road (at Pleasure Island) will have temporary TVs just for the World Cup, so there will be no shortage of venues (and you shouldn't have to pay to get in, either).

I knew that someone would bite - just a bit of friendly banter! :thumbsup2

ok all great info. It looks like we may have to travel to i-drive though. The match kicks off at 1400 that'll be 0900 in Orlando. ESPN won't be open, not sure on the others. I think our best bet will be i drive. Shame

Watched the Preston V West Ham play off in the Cricketers last May, this was early morning and they did make a small charge, nice pub shame about the result. Didn't have time to feel down though - straight off to the Magic Kingdom.

think yorself lucky as you will be wide awake to wacth it as thats the day we arive back in england from california.Plan on going to bed as soon as we get home and having a few allarm clocks to wake me up plus inlaws ringing me to make sure i will be awake. As for florida ESPN bar should have it on onsite and it should be on at the cricketers arms on idrive plus many outher places as I drive is a bit more like a cross betwen blackpool and benidorm nowadays (english breakfasts ect advertised and street venders selling tacky wears)
Paulh

i had the choice of the cricketers or the george & dragon on i drive to watch the hammers liverpool game. went to the george cos it was nearer & they had the cheek to want $20pp on the door! th4 guy was quite aggressive as well, particulalrly as they hadnt put a sign up re the price when i got there. the owner went on the mic to say that the sat feed said $24.95 to view & cos theyre a bar they pay $12000pa for all the footer. well, forgive me if im wrong, but they had over a 100 paying punters. that covered a few months sat costs! frankly, the food was rotten, the beer the most expensive on i-0drive - all to sit in a bar with a union jack. such a contrast to the warm welcome we always got at the cricketers. I wont be recommending the george & dragon to anybody.

You are only as good as you last thrashing :)

This time last year we were staying at CBR. We arrived on the day Liverpool were playing in some small cup game somewhere in Turkey (!) :confused3 The porter rushed my husband into the bedroom and switched TV onto a channel which was showing the game. My husband asked him to stay and they promptly spent the next hour drinking beer, sitting on the beds watching Liverpool win!!! Needless to say i went to the pool.

So to sum it up - i would think football will be on a channel in your room :teeth:
