If someone gave you 10k for an 8-10 night WDW vacation, how would you use it? You can go on a cruise, to the parks, any combo. You must use it all on your vacation, though. Not save any.

Thanks for playing!!

Ok I'll play. Junior suite at WL. That eats up 7 g right? All my usual sign places to eat. Tickets. And the rest on a new Darren Wilson painting for the house or a David willardson! :). That should do it.

Awesome choice!

I would do a Disney Fantasy cruise...$3,500 for the three of us off season. Then I would do a 7 days at a value or moderate resort plus lots of character meals so let's say $4500. The rest would go towards travel expenses and miscellaneous expenses.

10 grand...lets see...I would probably do a split stay at the poly and maybe akl, or cr club level for 4 days each and with the rest of the $ do a cruise. Or maybe just use up all the $ for the king suite at the poly for 4 days.

5 people in my family plus 1 of my oldest daughters friends so party of 6.

2 rooms at a mod POR

Dinning plan

Park Hoppers + water park

Airfare from Portland Oregon

This post annoys me a bit. Here's why: we're paying about $11k for seven of us to go to WDW for 10 days next May. So while it's a hypothetical question for the "average" family of four, that amount IS our WHOLE vacation! We could buy a car for that! I guess I'm annoyed by society's view of the one size fits all family. If you have more than two kids, you're screwed! :P Oh well, it may be a small fortune, but my babies are going to fully enjoy every minute of that ten day vacation! That will be worth it. :)

This is how fast that can go with my family. OKW 2 bedroom villa Oct 13 - 19th, 7 day tickets + park hoppers, regular dining, with flight through Disney: $10, 390.10 Guess we gotta drop the park hoppers to get it around $10,000.

I took the question to be you yourself not your whole family. I raised my famille and only got to go every few years that is the price you pay for having kids. Mine are raised now and my money is mine to spend, after bills of course, yours will be too someday

I'd do something very similar but with the GF, I think. But either one would be awesome. :) :goodvibes

But what's the fun in going alone? Good times are made better by those we love. I could never go to Disney without my family! I did that as a kid with my school trips. It wasn't nearly as fun as when my family was there. :)

It's a question for anyone: family or single person. I'm just getting ideas on how other people would spend 10k on a Disney vacation, that's al!

Don't sweat the small stuff. OP created an innocent thread asking people to daydream about a Disney trip if money were no object. Its great for you that you are affording that much to take your whole family, however many of us wouldn't be able to spend that much on a vacation.

I'd choose a 2 BR Villa at BWV for as long as I could go for the amount, doing deluxe dining :thumbsup2

Never said we could afford it!:thumbsup2 We're saving pennies and using part of my husband's student loan money but we realize that we may never get to have a trip of this magnitude again so we're going for it. And as for what our $11k buys in terms of resort and tickets:

11 nights/12days at Art of Animation for six of us.
11nights/12days at Pop Century for my dad.
3 adult and 3children 10 day MYW tix w/ park hopper.
Round trip airfare for seven from Indy to Orlando on SW.
About $2500 for food and souvenirs for the whole trip.

So all in all, we're getting a pretty spectacular vacation. And while we know we'd get off cheaper staying fewer days, we know we'd miss a lot too. It's a give and take. :)

Oh what a fun daydream!!! I'm thinking 10 days at GF with deluxe dining for DD and me. If $10K would even cover it! If not, I would settle for the Polynesian - but I definitely want to be on the monorail! :yay:

I haven't even taken my 1st trip yet, but what the hay huh? LOL

Probably around September or December

* 4 Guest overall (me & my future girlfriend; a friend and their guest)

* Disney Contemporary Resort or Disney Grand Floridian (easy access to the Monorails of course, :) )

* All 4 Theme Parks with the Park Hopper option.

* Disney Dining Plan + Water Parks (though I can't really swim :guilty:)

* Downtown Disney and access to Cirque du Soleil, Disney Quest etc.

* ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

I would save the rest for airfare, transportation and any bills.
