.....

Well, I guess I don't really agree with you. My DDs ate spaghetti at Alfredos, steak at LeCellier, Fish & chips at California Grill, Kids steak at California grill, chicken leg and mashed potatoes at Tusker House, calzone at Mama Melrose, yakitori chicken at yakitori House in Japan Pavillion, chips/salsa at Mexico pavillion, tempura at Tempura Kiku, corn dog nuggets at Cosmic Rays, huge hotdog at Caseys, grilled chicken sandwich and fruit cup at Beaches and Cream, meat on the skewers from 'Ohana, various breakfast foods at Character breakfasts, fruit cups at various fruit stands. That's all I can think of for now. But, the point is, there are other options available if you look. Especially at EPCOT.

Actually thats all my kids will eat. They would eat Mac n cheese, chicken fingers or pizza 3 times a day everyday if I let them. We're good to go at Disney.

I agree with Maggie. There is a lot more in WDW to eat then just Chicken Fingers and Mac and Cheese. First, though, you need to have the kind of kids that are willing to eat beyond the basics (my DD3 yes, my DS7 no way!). Secondly, you have to be willing to look for it and pay for it, as it is usually not a part of the kids menu at typical counter service or TS restaurants. I try to have a few buffet dinners to introduce some variety to the kids, and I find my son will do better if he sees and chooses the food himself (even if it's just a taste of something new!)

Sounds like you've made up your mind Belle, but I have to disagree with you also.

Check out the Allearsnet.com web site on Kids Dining - http://allearsnet.com/din/rest_kid.htm - and see what else there is. Cosmic Ray's has always worked for us.

Of course, we don't expect fine cuisine at the Magic Kingdom.

Even for our little angels.

And there is only defensive person on this thread Belle - look in the mirror

:stir:

Wow....

I think the responder to the original post was honestly trying to be helpful and was treated to a load of negativity for her trouble...

There were many places she listed that were not in Epcot and in MK or other places....

Go to the crystal palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, places like that in the MK and there are plenty of healthy choices for younger kids....

Thank you for taking the time to list all of the variety of foods available for small children at "EPCOT"...My little one's want to go see Cinderella and Mickey Mouse and therefor we will be eating and having our meals at MK where they deserve to be, not at boring Epcot just so Mommy and Daddy could go have their fancy dinners....I have the rest of the year to do that at home and Disney vacations are about having fun primarly for children (in my case right now) Thanks anyways for being so defensive and backing up Disney, I still think that M&C or Chicken fingers..wait if their lucky they might have a delicious and very healthy and so filling "grilled cheese", it pretty much is a bad jugement on behalf of meal choices for our growing little angels. :thumbsup2
The poster who named all those different places and variety of food for children were not JUST in Epcot. They were in AK, MGM , the resorts and the MK. No need to get defensive either. She was just trying to show you some other options for your children.

I think the only one defensive in this thread is you. Maggiew listed restuarants in every park, not just Epcot. BTW - my four year old niece LOVED Epcot. She had a blast there. Parents can take younger children to Epcot and have a REALLY good time if they take the time to find the things there that kids like to do. That being said here are the restuarants in MK that have food other than Mac and Cheese and Nuggets for children

CRT - Mini Hot Dogs on Pretzel buns (dinner), child's major domo pie (lunch), child's appetizer plate (lunch and dinner)
Comic Rays - Chicken Noodle Soup, Garden salad with chicken, chicken drum stick with mashed potatoes and applesauce
LTT - Turkey and mashed potatoes, salmon and mashed potatoes, fruit plate and yogart dip
Pecos Bills - Franks and beans
Plaza Restuarant - Tomato Soup, Junior Chef Salad, Turkey Sandwich, mini hamburgers
Tony's Town Square - Salad, ceasar salad, fruit plate, pasta premivara, ravioli, pizza, speghetti.

Sounds like a LOT of differnt choices to me.

It seems that some people ask for comments and suggestions here just to be combative... :confused3

Very well you guys....thanks a bunch for all of your insights and lets go on with our lives now , shall we? I hope you all enjoy your Disney vacations anyway that you choose to... and by the way I would assume that I am entitle to my opinions such as you all are. Anyways to the next thread and peace out to all of you :hippie:

That was a nasty response.

Adults and kids both can/do enjoy Epcot.

You can find healthy food for kids all over WDW.

I'm willing to bet most kids are more than happy to have chicken fingers and mac & cheese. If not, Disney wouldn't offer it.

No, not fine cuisine but a couple of fruits & vegetables would be nice....than again I guess I'm the only one that wants my kids to eat healthy, and I am very proud :sunny:
You are foolish for not paying attention to anything said here. Read the menus - really READ THEM - and then think about what you are writing.

My DS11 does not eat fast food. He loves salads. See the Cosmic Ray's kids menu. Salads. Soups. Veggies.

You may *think* you are the only one that wants your little angels to eat healthy, but you are fortunately wrong.

Open your eyes, read the menus, and lose the incorrect preconceived notions.

I guess I again don't get the mother of the year award because I let my kids eat pizza, chicken fingers and mac and cheese. ;)

I'll have to remember to bookmark that poster.

I think somebody's just got her panties in a bunch because we didn't all rush to agree.

I was thrilled with the choices offered to my DD. She could go the junky route with chicken fingers or pizza type foods, or she could have good healthy foods. She did pretty well for herself when we were there and not just "boring Epcot."

I don't recall my DS5 eating Mac & Cheese or Chicken Nuggets the whole time we were at WDW (10 days). He did love Epcot though. He was totally enthralled by the kidcot stations at each country.

You're not alone. During our last trip my son had cookies and a soda for lunch one afternoon.

We've also had ice cream for dinner a few times. :woohoo:
