101 Dalmations Costume

OK so we are not close to October yet, but I thought I'd share what my wife and I are going to be for Halloween.

I just wanted to share, because I thought it was a cute idea.

She is going to be Cruella DeVille (pardon my spelling) and I'm going to be 101 Dalmations! I plan to wear a white sweat suit and pin as many stuffed dalmations on it as I can.

So every garage sale I go to I look for stuffed dalmations. I forgot for the first month of garage sale season, but I've picked up 3 so far this month... put that with the the ones I've collected since coming up with the idea last year and the ones that we already had lying aroud the house... and... and well I'm still not even close, but it's fun. Obviously I won't be able to fit 101 but the more I have the cuter I think it will be.

Oh yea, my mom called me and said she has one for me that she picked up (a "beanie" dalmation) for a quarter Saturday.

My son is going to be a dalmation this year too. (He's an infant, so I just bought a costume off of ebay.)
We are desperately searching for a Cruella costume for my 7 year old though. I do not sew and other than scrapbooking and stamping, I'm not too crafty.

Any ideas?

Love the idea. When DD was 2 she was a dalmation (from Disney store) and I made a Cruella cape and just wore it over a black cocktail dress w/stockings and pumps. I got some of the hairspray coloring stuff from Walmart and did half my hair white (looked gray). The pattern I used also has a Wicked Queen costume that I'd love to make one year. DD WAS Snow White the year DS was born. I couldn't get that made w/ a newborn. Really wish I had; DS would have been Dopey

Melrosgirl -- try to find a cape at a party/Halloween store that you can hot glue some animal print material to. A Snow White red cape would work. GEt the fleece animal print material so you don't have to sew the edges. Cut and glue.
