1000th Post

Wow, after almost 8 years, this is my 1000th post here on the DisBoards.

I really want to thank all of you for welcoming me way back then, and for all the tips over the years. This great resource has allowed me to save time and money on our vacations so that we could visit Mickey more often.

As a divorced Dad, I’ve watched my 2 boys grow up in the parks and pools of the WDW Resort. We’ve had great trips with Grandma, Uncle’s, Aunt’s, and all the cousin’s. I actually have pictures of the boys with the same characters in the same spots for every year we have been. It’s kinda like our own Disney growth chart.

In the past, I’ve posted about my current spouse and significant other but we aren’t officially married. Although we have been together for 8+ years, we finally got engaged during Wishes in the Magic Kingdom last year around this time.

After watching our guest list grow uncontrollably for a wedding here, we are currently planning our Disney Fairy Tale Wedding for January 2014. We wanted to share our love of Disney World with our family members and friends, especially the ones that haven’t been. It's going to be a great time with a few surprises for our guests!

I just thought I’d share a little about myself and let you know how a lot of you have helped my family grow together in the parks.

Aww congrats yxe dad, on your upcoming nuptials as well as the post!

You made me curious about my total--looks like I talk more than you but less than others! We went on a Disney cruise a few years ago and the cruise group was funny...they played the equivilent of online drinking games for various milestone posts in the thread. So, 500th post gets a "medal" or something. Friday nights for months before we'd all log on to the webcam and watch the ship leave berth. Yeah. We needed to get a life! Anyway, I think I wasted a lot of posts on that...
