I just noticed a 1000 point resale at OKW listed on TSS for $80 point. What would be the reason for someone to purchase 1000points! My guess would be that they were purchased with the purpose of profit....don't know if that is the real reason, but I can't image anyone using the 1000 points annully for personal use..just my opinion. don't know many folks who have $80,000 sitting around for leisure use. I have 250 points and , yes I did add on from my original 210 and could maybe rationalize 200 more...but really! Good luck to the seller.

I think they will be sitting on that one for a while! Probably didn't have the Disboards to tell them to buy smaller contracts!

They are better off to just price it down and unload for cheap, either to a buyer or via ROFR. Maybe $65 per point? DVC is about the only reasonable buyer for a single contract that large unless you get real lucky.

I bet it was a corporate purchase, for the "big boss" to send his clients or employees to disney. And to those types of companies 80K is nothing. Think of all the companies that have baseball season tickets, Yankee season tickets supposedly go for 60K and up for the good seats!!

Why is a contact of that size such a big deal? It would be to me, but considering what people spend on beach houses, it really isn't that much. In fact, when compared to a beach house, it is downright cheap.

We have 470 a year and are considering buying more or possibly marriott vacation club. They could be snowbirds as well, we are considering using ours for that purpose after retirement.

No, they can't break it up. If it was purchased in one contract, only Disney can break it up if they acquire it thru ROFR.

It's not the money. It's the size of the contract. It's not very portable. Very few buyers in the market are looking for that many points at once. Hence, I suspect they will only be able to sell something like this to Disney.

Was it an extended contract or did it have the 2042 expiration date?

I'm trying to help them out ... I made an offer ...

Ditto... Right on the money.
