100 Year Of Magic pins still light up?

Two years ago we bought the pins, and I remember how it went crazy during the finale of Spectromagic.

Well, now it's two years later, the 100-YOM celebration is long over.

Do the signals that trigger these buttons still work? Or should I leave my old pins at home? (I know I can always trigger it by hand, but I'm wondering about the outside signals that made the pins do special things.)

0urs still worked 3 weeks ago! We got batteries at Wal-Mart.
