What's going on down there, locals? We are seeing the expected temps for next week are upper 90's and into 100'.... is this for real???

The Santa Ana winds will be keeping the temps up this week.

We took a trip to the park about three years ago the weekend before Thanksgiving. I packed all my warm stuff...pants, sweatshirts, gloves & scarf and guess what!? It ended up being in the high 90's...in November!!! Luckily I had tossed in one pair of shorts "just in case" so I wore the same pair of shorts all weekend! Thank goodness Disney keeps their park so clean!

I remember going to Disneyland with friend Bob Brazeal during the first week in November a few years ago, and there were Christmas decorations, and fireworks with SNOW, but yet, it was in the 100s. It was so funny to me at the time that it was snowing on Main Street, and still in the 80s in the evening.

We are going midweek thru the weekend and it sounds like it will moderate about then. I'd love it to be in the low 80's or high 70's. This midwesterner call that perfect!!!:thumbsup2

We were at DL from October 24-28, 2003 and the Santa Anna winds were blowing and the fires were raging. People wearing masks in the parks due to the smoke, I remember that Saturday the ash just falling, it was really awful. Sea World closed around that time due to the fires. So I think it just happens sometimes, which is really a shame given the fires that come along with those high temps. Hope you have a great trip anyway!

Wow, we had the crowds last week, and it was warm, but no where near that hot. Guess I should be glad for that, as it was we didn't pack shorts and were regretting it!

This thread was freaking me out when I first read it!!

I had to rush and check the weather and looks like we'll miss the heat wave. We'll be there the 26-28th and it will be 81, 76 and 76. Sounds good to me!! :cool1:

I've been reading that there are a lot of fires in SoCal... hope they are not so close to DL that there is a lot of smoke, anyone know?

They are reporting that a fire is burning in Orange right now, not too far from DL, so I am guessing that there will be some smoke from that.

Yes...it was very bad there today. Couldn't take your sunglasses off the wind was blowing smokey, dusty air. A tree blew down at DTD at La Brea Bakery. My skin is just covered with dust and that gritty stuff is in my mouth. It's the worst weather I've ever seen there. Today maybe 80-85, but the next few days are going to be 90-96 and yes there are about 8 fires going as of right now. The air isn't very blue and pretty. Weird though, I only live 10 minutes from DL and it's not blowing like that here. DL was like a hurricane today at times!

I was there today as well. It was definitely very windy there, and I was covered in dust. I am in Irvine where the fire in Orange is heading (other end though), and we have been able to smell very sstrongly for hours now. You will definitely be able to smell it at Disneyland. Orange is very close to Disneyland too. It is driving my allergies crazy, so if you have any allergies/asthma/breathing issues, be careful. The dust at DL today started my issues, but the fire is now making things worse.

you know california is a crazy weather state...one day it could be 90º and the next 70º so I never ever start my packing until a day or 2 before I go anywhere...so when I heard it was going to be in the 90's this week I didnt even trip...and of course as on schedule by wed. its saying it will be down to 86º and continue dropping and the nights will be downright chilly being in the high 50's...I think I will go down there wearing capris but change into shorts once I get over there....and change back into capris once the sun starts going down:confused3 ...but who knows, it wont even surprise me come tuesday night when I check the forecast if its showing upcoming temps in the 60's:rolleyes1 because us cali people roll that way:rolleyes:....WORD!!:cool2:

How close are the fires to Disney? We are going on Thursday for the weekend and I'mgetting concerned. Hope everybody stays safe.

I'm wondering what the local news is saying about the fires that are close to DL? We arrive Wednesday and I'm wondering if we should plan on the ash being as bad by then or if they are saying it will be mostly contained? I sure hope so!

There were a couple of fires in OC last night and we could smell smoke, but didn't smell or see smoke this morning. The winds and blowing dust will continue for a couple more days, but if we're lucky there won't be any more fires in this part of the southland. The problems are predominantly north and northwest of L.A.

That's so good to hear. Thanks for letting us know! I feel better. Whew! :)

Ok I have a questions, we are from Hawaii and we will be up at DL from November 30th till Dec 9th.

Does anyone know how the weather usually is around this time and how we should pack. It is so terrible about the fires and hopefully everything will die down soon and noone else will get hurt. Our prayers go out to those dealing with this situation right now.

Any info or advice will be appreciated.

Aloha, Zena :cutie:
