I haven''t done it but do not be surprised if, in order to get the gift card, you have to spend at least 90 minutes doing the test drive with the salesman giving you an almost continuous spiel comparable to that which a timeshare condominium salesman gives. And, when you get back, you may have to spend an additional 30 minutes or so in the office with a manager who also gives a spiel.

Fine print also says you must show proof of insurance and ownership of a 2004 or newer non-GM vehicle. What a strange requirement. I suppose I do have a non-GM vehicle though, so might qualify.

If I had a 2004 or newer vehicle, I wouldn't be in the market for a new car! My 2001 (bought new) needs to be replaced. (Though, now that I've typed this, my husband has a newer car, I guess I could just show that one.)

Has anyone actually done this just for the gift card? That seems so awkward. Like when BMW had the "test drive and we'll donate to Olympics"- does anyone just go test drive? I already hate test driving the cars I might buy... I worry so much I might get in an accident (which I never have.)

I can see that working. The promotion lasts until they run out of gift cards. i bet sales people HATE having their time wasted by promotions like this, with people who have no intention of buying. I'd totally be the kind of salesperson who just handed over the card to save everyone from a waste of their time. I'd probably get fired :lol
