On March 7th.

I know, yet another thread about this, but as stated earlier the Fastpasses would be enforced starting March 7th.

It has not just been updated that March 7th will now be the "Educate, not enforce" day. CM's will be letting people in for their fastpasses even if they are late, but will be told that they need to return in their time slot from now on. This has already been happening at most attractions for the past few weeks.

The current day for the Enforcement to begin will be March 8th, and this is on a day to day basis. Operation Management teams will be sending reports to the VP's of Operations for each park after each day on how the enforcement is going.

There is also no truth to the rumor that you may arrive 5 minutes early, but there is a 15 minute policy that you will be allowed in late, but this is not communicated to guests.

So in recap, the enforcement is happening, the CM's are all updated and know that they will be enforcing the existing rule, and it will start March 8th.

Sorry, but on The Hub under Advisories it still shows March 7 and still says nothing about a grace period.

Oh I know it still says the same, this comes straight from the mouths of Operations Management, and the Operation Guide update that I read for my update.

Hate to say it, but most of what you said here is not true. We just had our OG updates about FastPass enforcement and it does indeed start March 7th. We haven been instructed to "educate" first, then "enforce" the next day. However, many of us have been informing guests over the last few weeks that very soon they will not be allowed to use their fast passes after the time listed on the pass (the 15 min rule does apply here, and there are a handful of exceptions that we have to accept them for).

Also, we are allowed to take them 5 minutes early, but only if the lines are not backed up (aka, don't expect to be allowed in early during summer or any holiday period, or after the fireworks).

Don't know who your managers are, but this is what everyone in my area was told.

This is why FP (among other things) got out of hand before though, no consistency.

Interesting details, thanks...

Leave it to Disney to wait until the last minute to actually get the details into the hands of who needs them, and then still create confusion. "Free on your Birthday" anyone? :)

This is further proof that if you wear a name tag...you are not privy to agenda of the management.

I been there...but this is the reality.

I have been here one week and have not had one CM mention anything about FP enforcement...I read about that on here...popcorn:: and it has been packed this week

Very funny saying CM's know nothing. Most just reiterate rumors but for this I was just posting what our management team had said to us for a week at track talks.

So the reports made yesterday by people who said they were denied entry with their late FP were not true???:confused3

ETA: I also find your thread title to be very misleading, but perhaps you did that on purpose??

I was a CM they know nothing.

I was a CM and a manager...

and i knew nothing.

years ago...when disney shutdown the caribbean for 4 months to rehab...the first mention of it was on Intercot...then next day there was an "informative" 5 minute discussion with all the staff to tell them "hey...you aint' gonna be working here"...and then it shutdown ten days later.

That particular example...along with one thousand others i experienced personally...are why my firm belief is that CMs know nothing. Because it is not necessary for them to know anything...and if anything, better for all involved if they don't know anything until the last possible second...which is usually long after the general public is aware.

Yes Virginia, dismissing a question doesn't work. The generally blathering threads on the theme park board (links copied below) are not full of breathless reports for the trenches. Rather, they are full of labored, preachy policy debates on ethical pass use, fairness, the price of gas, is there a God, etc.

Frankly, the closest any one of these gets to "reports on the new fastpass policy from the trenches" is a single story from someone on 3/8 who had a fast pass to an attraction. They missed the window on it because another attraction they were on went down while they were aboard and delayed them well beyond the fastpass exipration time. Concerned they might be refused if they tried to use the "expired" pass, they went to straight to guest services, told their story and were immediately given a "use anytime" replacement pass.

By the way, the most useful piece of info from any of these threads was the following soundbite someone shared from a WDWmagic blog:

"according to Disney 80% of FP's were used within 15 to 20 minutes of their stated window."

And what a tibit: no more than 1 in 5 FP users "abuse" the return window. Trust me, said minority skews to the more seasoned, sophisticated WDW veterans (think the TGM crowd) - and they are driving a reaction to the new policy that will far outweigh their numbers.

Huh?:confused3 First of all, my name isn't Virginia. And secondly, I thought you were joking given the "winking smilie" in your first post. If you are being serious, why does this even matter now? This new rule is being followed strictly at this point, and WAS being enforced by some CMs on March 7th. As for my questioning the OP originally, I had read on this board and others that people were being turned away on the 7th, so I don't know why it is a big enough deal to you to try to take up an issue with me about it. OP didn't seem to mind.

What is the point of your post? I am not trying to be snarky at all. This thread has been dead for 11 days. I truly don't understand the issue. :confused3

Yep, Disney is dotting every "i" and crossing every "t" in process of changing Fastpass.

That's why they can't even properly spell the word "accommodate" on them. :rotfl2:

Has anyone tried to use their Fast Pass after the allotted time lately?
