10 year old at California Grill?

I have late reservations for my last night at the California Grill. Thought we might enjoy the fireworks during/after dinner. Is this the best final night for my 10 year old daughter? Or is this more of an adult enjoyment time? We will have done Chef Mickey's and CRT for breakfast. We are starting the trip off at Hoop Dee Doo Review. Would you recommned a different final meal? How about dinner at the castle?

My children, 6 and 4, loved CG, even though we were there for two hours. DS claims it was his favorite meal. I don't think it is at all inappropriate for your DD, unless she is expecting a 20 minute meal and then go. The service staff is very attentive to children and will cater to whatever she needs...DS got a dessert built especially for him because he has some food allergies. I am sure she will be impressed by Wishes on the deck. Plus, it is a great meal for you!

My DD went here for the first time when she was 8, and looks forward to going back every year. She loves the rice krispy sushi!

First time I went there, I was 19 and my cousin was 12 or 13 and she loved it- still talks about it. I think she'll be fine. Toddlers or babies I might second guess being there for so long, but an honest to goodness kid would probably have an awesome time.

I took my children when they were 8 (and he's a little "antsy") and 13...fine...no problem and they enjoyed it very much!

It's fairly adult but a 10 year old girl would probably love to dress up and play adult for the night and there is a kids menu. Absolutly take her.

California Grill can be a fantastically intimate restaurant for a couple, a great place for a single to go or an unbelievable family restaurant. You really can't go wrong there no matter what you mood, entourage or expectations.

You'll be fine. I took my 7 year old and it was one of his favorite meals. Be sure to take her out on the deck for the fireworks.

We have ADR's for CG at 9:10 on a night Wishes is at 10:00. Can we just get up and go out on the deck during our meal? Do they have the music piped in?

Of course you can; and let me tell you they're used to it. Just tell your server you want to plan your meal around the fireworks and they'll make sure to time your order accordingly. You can have your appetiser and then have them hold the main course until after ther fireworks, for example. You just head out on the balcony and enjoy. Yes, they have the music piped in (a bit too loud if you ask me) and you can even take your glass of wine out with you....a really great experience.

My kids love the CG. We went fot the 1st time last year and we will definitely eat there every visit from now on. They were 8 and 12 at the time and loved the food. (they are adventurous eaters and enjoyed the new things that they tried.) It was the best meal of our our vacation.

I agree! I think it's a great place for double digits--single digits on a case-by-case basis. Like another poster said, unless she's a stuff and run kid, she'll love it. And I think it's a wonderful way to end your trip!

Has anybody celebrated a birthday at CG?

I thought I'd ask here as a lot of people have dined there. It will be DH's bday and DD's the next day.

Do they provide anything or should I order something separate?

We definately want to see the fireworks from the CG on that night.

Any suggestions?

Yes, we celebrated DH's birthday and our anniversary (one day apart--we had birthday cake at teh rehearsal dinner!) last year, and got absolutely nothing special for it.
