My hubby and I are going to take the kids to Disney for our 10 year anniversary. I want to stay days at Por for 10 days but he wants to do cr for a week. We have done Por two trips in a row so he wants something different. I'd love to but I would rather stay longer!

We are a family of five by the way!

I believe (and I may be mistaken) that POR is the only moderate resort that allows five per room. Have you thought about a family suite at the values???

For the price of the Contemporary have you looked into maybe renting a 1 br DVC unit? You might be able to still do the longer stay you want along with meeting your husband's wish to try a new resort.

Warning - DVC units can become additive. :)

ETA: A split stay might work well too. DVC units are much more expensive on weekends, so avoid those if you do a split. The 1 br units also have waher/dryer in room which is really nice for longer stays. Pack half the clothes!

We do the free dining when I price it out with the tickets needed, it's more money than just a week at cr

blt (the new dvc resort next to CR) is newer. You would need at 1-bedroom but it has king bed, queen sleeper sofa and chair bed in the living room (yes it has a living room) full kitchen (so you can eat here), laundry room.

if you rent from a DVC member a reservation - you will get NO free dinning.

you only get free dinning when you rent from Disney pay rack rate for the hotel room and full price for the tickets.

you can get DDP w/dvc rental - w/just the villa - you don't need to buy the tickets thru Disney

Didn't read the while thread but we just got back from our 10 year anniversary trip with our kids (their first trip) and stayed at POR in a Royal Room.
