10% Off Catered Events for Annual Passholders!

I just got a WDW Annual Passholder email that described a new 10% discount on catered events for Annual Passholders.

The offer does not apply to weddings, unfortunately, but they mention anniversaries, and it seems to apply to catered events like a rehearsal dinner, bridal tea, farewell brunch, etc. However, it could be that you would need to book those through Walt Disney World Catering and Convention Services rather than Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings.

Still, it's something to investigate....

"Passholders are now eligible for a special incentive when booking a private catered event or celebration at Walt Disney World Resort, for 10 or more guests, held before October 3, 2009. Whether planning a Birthday Celebration, including Quinceañeras, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs; an Anniversary dinner; other social events such as baby or bridal shower; family reunions; or just a night out with your friends and family enjoying desserts with a reserved viewing location for Illuminations:Reflections of Earth or Fantasmic!, the team at Walt Disney World Catering and Convention Services can assist you with any of your event needs, including food and beverage, photography, floral, entertainment and décor.

Passholders are eligible to receive a 10% discount on standard catered menus and non-alcoholic beverages at events in any of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Water Parks, and Resort locations. Some exclusions, black-out dates, and minimums may apply. This offer does not include Weddings, custom designed menus, alcoholic beverages, venue rentals, entertainment, photography, floral, décor, and non-Catered event options.

Yeah I just got that email. I was thinking people having dessert parties could use the 10% off.

I'm writing my planner right now because I could sure use that $$ to go towards our chocolate Mickey placecards!

I have the works going on with a rehearsal dinner and a dessert party...this could add up really fast!

So I called the # listed above and she said to wait to hear back from the wedding coordinator...

sigh...so i'm waiting...I guess worst case scenario we get nothing...but I think what Lynn said is right..we should be entitled to get it on the dessert parties...and rehearsal dinners...

Carrie! I was looking for your PJ! You prob don't remember me, I used to be a pest asking you a millionquestions on your stunning wedding!!

Do the annual pass holders get any other special things? We will be buying one for our hm since it is more than 10 days....

Also are the passes plastic or paper? I get worried that they are paper as fh and I always lose things (Last year we switchedroom cardsby accident and they wouldnt let fh get into wdw with my card, however I got in lolol

Hi! I remember you!

Once you buy the pass and receive the voucher (which you turn into the actual pass at Guest Services when you get to WDW), you get a little booklet and access to a website telling you all the benefits.

The big ones are room discounts (which you can book before you actually get the pass, as long as you have it with you when you arrive), and the ability to buy the Tables in Wonderland card, which gives you 20% off food and beverages at tons of restaurants at Disney. (Unfortunately, they now automatically add an 18% gratuity for you server, but at least it's still kinda like getting the tip for free...).

The passes are paper, which surprised us cuz our Disneyland passes are plastic. It is pretty tough paper - kinda like a Tyvek FedEx or USPS envelope with threads - but it still amazes me that they put something that's s'posed to last a year on paper.

However, you can get a plastic sleeve to keep yours in - they even sell sleeves on lanyards so the pass is always at hand.

I am going to search for the tables of wonderland dining, this way I can see what restaurants are listed before I buy thank you so much as usual!!

Ok, so I didn't get an email from the planner, but I had a reason to call regardless so I put in a phone call...

What I've heard, and I don't think this will change but we never know...

"Any catered event occuring on your wedding day is excluded from the discount. "

In my case, that means my dessert party is excluded...

Fortunately, my rehearsal dinner is included, so my DFIL will get some change back...

Now she said should I decided to change the date of my dessert party, then we are in business, lol...good luck changing my date less than 23 days out!
