All booked for 2019! Looking for info on best shore excursions and on board theme nights. Thanks so much for any information you can provide! :)

How much experience do you have with Europe? How old are the kids? Grandparents going? How comfortable are you with non-DCL tours?

We're doing the 10 night med this July. There is one port that is different next year. I'll be writing a trip report when we get back, so stay tuned. I will tell you though, that its never too early to start looking at the different ports and looking into private excursions. My neighbor and I used Trip Advisor and recommendations from these boards to book the majority of our excursions privately.

I’ve only spent time in France - that’s the extent of my Europe experience. We’re very comfortable traveling though and do so frequently. It will be myself, my husband, and our 11 year old son. I always prefer tours that are organized by the cruise line. I appreciate any and all info! :)

I have been exploring ports and excursion options already. We cruise a lot, but never in the Med, so I’m familiar with that piece of it. I always prefer to book my excursions through DCL. I’ll keep an eye out for your review this summer! :)

Hmm, I can't help you with any Med DCL excursions. Our Med cruise we arranged all of ours ourselves, also thru recommendations found on TripAdvisor. I will say that if you are willing, you'll get more excursion for your dollar, with greater flexibility if you do your own thing.

We tried to plan half culture, half fun, to keep the various age groups happy. We ALWAYS like food tours - we like to try new things.

That said, be aware that many of the ports are actually quite a ways away from the major tourist sites, ie Civitavecchia is 60+ minutes from Rome.
