10 Disney podcasts to listen to

I think you'd be ok starting wdw today now because you would only know the new hosts. They sometime go over news, they sometimes do trip reports, they sometimes do previews of things like flower and garden etc. At the end of every show they do listener questions with Len Testa. Also they have Off Kilter exclusive intro and outro music.

I wish I liked their new show. I just can't get into it. I really liked Matt & the two Mike's. I need to give it another shot but I stopped listening after a few episodes. I absolutely love listening to Len, though.

The DIS was the very first one I listened to. I usually try to watch the episodes and at the very least I listen the next day. I've also started listening to the Disneyland one & the Dreams one (very helpful for planning our upcoming west coast trip!) .. I listen to the Universal one on occasion because I enjoy Craig/Ryno/JL.

I also really like the Be Our Guest podcast (Mike is great) & the MouseChat podcast (although their show is usually a little late on the news and sometimes I find myself knowing more than they do about things lol), but both of those shows have honest reviews.. Though none as great as the Dis Unplugged, of course. :)

I really appreciate how much time the team gives to their podcasts. It's amazing to me that they produce such high quality work multiple times per week. I appreciate it so much!

Len is the only reason I still listen.

I listened to the Q&A show recently with Len, other than that I haven't made it through the other episodes because like I said I just can't get into the team. I may have to just go back and listen to old episodes from past years, never hurts & they're always entertaining!

Any list will be subjective, even our own. Judging what it best, or top, seems an impossibility.

THAT SAID...

I think its a shame that the Mousetalgia! podcast didn't make the list.

The main problem with other podcasts is not their content, personality, quirkiness, etc. Instead it's their infrequency. The podcasts tend to be a "labor of love" by fans rather than part of a business model, like The DIS Unplugged and associated podcasts. WDW Today dealt with the problem by going to three a week to one a week, to Annette bowing out, to replacing the entire cast. Van from Netcot just faded away (still miss his show). I think Tom Corliss is stretched too thin with all his projects and will eventually bow out/cease the WDW News Today podcast. Even Lou doesn't seem to follow a regular schedule.

There are a few others I'd suggest, that I like: Disney Vault Talk - a lot of fun, but I tend to skip the Star Wars Rebels shows, and I'm not sure what they will do once they review every Disney animated feature; maybe do the all the live action films. The DisGeek Podcast. And, The Sweep Spot - two former Disneyland cast members (custodians) who hired on in the 90s. Very funny and droll at times.

Oh, and on YouTube, in addition to The DIS Unplugged, I love Fresh Baked Disney, but as CA residents they are DLR-centric.

3. Resort Loop
4. The Disney Dish with Jim Hill
5. Radio Harambe (just started listening to this one)

The Disney Hipsters are my 2nd favorite. Dont listen if "colorful" language offends you. 2 married couples talking disney. Good stuff.

I actually like the New Wdw Today podcast, but then again I didnt really listen to the old one that much.

The Dis was the first Disney podcast I started following and is my favorite.
I am OK with the new WDW Today, but literally the first episode I heard was the one where they announced changing up the format/hosts.
WDW Radio has some interesting content, and their dining reviews make me hungry, but sometimes a little over-the-top with praise of all things Disney. I do like how detailed some of the shows are, for instance an episode they did recently describing their experience at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Mouse Chat, Dis After Dark, and Disney Dish are also in my rotation.

But DIS is still the best! :thumbsup2

I got started listening to **************. There was something really soothing about Ricky's voice. But then he stopped doing the podcast as much and I looked elsewhere. WDW Radio is/was very good, but I agree - he's a little too pro Disney. I'm a huge fan of Be Our Guest Podcast. Again - they're a little too pro Disney, but I like the outline of the shows.

Little did I know my new favorite would be right under my nose. I have been posting on Disboards for quite some time and it never "clicked" that I should try out their podcast. It's great. I love that they offer an unbiased opinion on Disney.

I stumbled on the "Unofficial Guide's Disney Dish" podcast and I like what I'm hearing so far.
They've also been doing a series similar to The Dis' CONNECTING WITH WALT every couple of weeks.

I also noticed Mouse Chat is high on the iTunes podcasts charts. I tried and not really feeling it, though.

I tried mouse chat as well it didn't stick for me but I do enjoy Disney dish with jim hill.

I like the DIS podcast. I also really enjoy the Universal Edition. Craig, Ryno, and Jenny are hilarious together. I just started Connecting with Walt this week. I am starting at the beginning, and I am looking forward to listening to a lot more of them.

I'm with many others regarding WDW Radio. I love Lou's Top 10 lists and the live dining reviews, but man, it's so positive to the point of enough is enough. We get it, you love Disney. However, it's not all the fairy tale he makes it out to be. That's why I love the DIS. They praise Disney when they deserve it , and are not afraid to call them out on the ridiculousness that has been running rampant over the last few years. I wish Lou would take off the rose colored glasses for a just a little bit.

Ditto on all of this. The Dis was the first podcast I found and it has always been my favorite. I appreciate all the hard work the team does. I want to say this thread has been very useful because it has helped me learn of other Disney podcasts I might enjoy. This is a good thing because I have probably listened to all the past podcasts from the DIS at least twice and was looking for new material. I tried googling Disney podcasts but found that people in the forums know better then google. Lately I have found myself liking the more Disney history type podcasts. I tried the Disney Dish this week for the first time.

Just my opinion but I think it's so Lou continues to get his Disney freebies.

I think the positive attitude is real. He was like that before he was getting any free stuff from Disney when he started the podcast in New Jersey.

I haven't known about him for that long but I think getting the free stuff helps keep his positivity.

I agree. There is nothing wrong with choosing to focus on the positive things. It's his show and that's the way he wants it ...whatever the motivation.
