Hi everyone!

We are headed to The World 8/15-8/24. We will be staying at the Poly.
(Actually heading 8/10, but staying off site until 8/15...however, if we decide to eat at any resorts or DTD, I will surely include those reviews as well!)

We are a party of 10:

My family:
Me--lover of just the act of going out to eat! I love everything except seafood. And will not eat it, ever. :)

DH--hater of going out to eat! Would eat a piece of cardboard if that's what is being served. He is not picky at all and will eat any food! He also doesn't understand my love of food! :confused3

DD7--she also loves almost any food and is adventurous. :yay:

DD5--she does NOT love food. Extremely picky...to the point that we have considered taking her to a feeding clinic type place. She has texture issues and is extremely sensitive to food smells. Her diet is very plain! We always said, "Our kids are going to eat what we cook! Blah, blah, blah..." And we do make her taste everything we cook, even if lots of gagging is involved. :rolleyes1

My in laws:
SIL
BIL
DNiece 12 almost 13
DNephew 7
I'm not going to comment on their preferences, but will say the first three are extremely adventurous and have eclectic tastes. They enjoy going out to more upscale establishments.

MIL--loves food like me :)
FIL--very picky! Doesn't like cheese, garlic, or onions, or extraneous stuff. A meat and potatoes man!

Now for the list of restaurants where we will be eating. I will add links here so you can click and go directly to the review!

I'm really interested in your dining report. We have a party of 12 going next summer and I'm really curious about your reports having the larger group. Thanks!!!

Subscribing! You have many of our favorites on your list, can't wait to read your reviews!

I'm back, I'm back! I just uploaded all my pics to photobucket and am starting on my first entry now...
Thanks for joining me!

Before I start on Disney dining, I want to post my reviews of Sea World dining. We spent 5 days off property near Sea World before moving over to Disney.

The first place we ate lunch was Seafire Inn Restaurant.
Here's a pic of the menu:

These were the kid meals. The kids both loved their meals.

My mom and I both got the Asian Chicken Vegetable Stir Fry. This was good and I would order it again. It was nice and light for how hot it was outside!

Let me talk about the process for ordering food here.
The line starts at one end where you get your tray and silverware, and then moves to the drinks. You give someone your drink order and then proceed down the cafeteria like line. Let's just say, I had a less than stellar experience with that process due to the mother and her 5 children who thought they could come and get trays and jump the entire line, and head straight for the food. They by passed everyone and acted like they didn't know. I confronted them since they were jumping right in front of me. And she said we just want food...well what do you think WE want??!! I didn't let it go and pointed to the entire line which was probably 12-15 people deep and said that's what everyone in this line is doing!! They got out but not without being mad at me...oh well!

The next day we ate at the Spice Mill Cafe. I don't have the menu for this one. But it was very similar.

This was the kids meal! I completely forgot to take the picture before they devoured the nuggets.

This was the cheeseburger meal both my mom and I got. We should have split one! It was huge. Just an average burger.

You are my hero! I wouldn't confront anyone like that (too passive and shy), but kudos to anyone who stops the line cutters!

This was an impromptu meal! We were too early to check into our condo by SeaWorld so we drove straight from the airport to Downtown Disney.

We were starving and this was the first place we came across. I have never even looked at this menu! So I wasn't thrilled. I like to have everything planned out...:cool1:

Here's the menu:

We placed our order at the counter and were given a number. (Note...it was SUPER hot and inside seating is extremely limited. We really didn't want to sit outside and there really weren't any tables available anyway.) So we sat the kids in the window seat right up by the counter and we stood at the table.

These were some of the desserts at the counter. We didn't order any dessert though.

This was the kid's chicken and chips. I have to say, these may be the best fries in Disney!

This was the kid's hamburger meal with chips. It was pretty big for a kid's meal and she liked it.

The Original One and One---Fish and Chips
My mom ordered this. I didn't taste it because I don't love fish, but she ate the whole thing so it must have been good!

The Cobb Salad
This was supposed to be the Cobb Salad, however it was missing the cheese and egg?? So I flagged down the guy delivering the food and asked for it. He immediately brought me some on the side. This was nice and light and perfect for a sweltering hot day.

I would definitely come back here, even if it was just for the chips!

I really hated to do it, especially because my kids were with me, but I was hot, tired, hungry and cranky. I truly chalked it up to the fact that I wasn't in "Disney" yet...

great start to your dining report - rarely see a photo of Cookes food or menu - looks good for a cs. Can't wait for more :)

Our next meal was dinner at Sanaa. We met up with my cousin and her family. They were staying at AKL.
Here's one pic of the menu:

These were the main meals you could pick from.

A pic of the kid menu:

We ordered the bread service that came with three different breads and three accompaniments.
Breads - Naan, Garlic Ginger Naan, Spiced Naan, Onion Kulcha, Papadum
Accompaniments - Red Chile Sambal, Cucumber Raita, Coriander Chutney, Mango Chutney, Coconut Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Spicy Jalapeno-lime pickle, Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus, Tamarind Chutney
We chose the Naan (which the kids devoured), the garlic ginger naan, and the onion kulcha. For the toppings we chose the cucumber raita, the mango chutney, and the roasted red bell pepper hummus.

All were very good! My favorite topping was the mango chutney though.

Kid's pizza:

Must have been good because my dd almost finished it!

Kid's chicken pot pie:

My dd didn't like this...however I tasted it and it was good! She ended up eating my mom's butter chicken and rice.

I *think* this was the pick two...Spicy Durban Shrimp and Butter Chicken with the rice pilaf:

My mom ordered this and said it was very good.

Pick two with Butter Chicken and Bison Masala with the Basmati Rice. (The short ribs listed on allears are not on the menu anymore!)

This was my meal. The butter chicken was VERY good. Melt in your mouth. As previously stated...I do not love funky foods, so the Bison Masala was a stretch for me! I was going in prepared for the short ribs! But they were gone from the menu. The Bison was okay. A little sharp for my tastebuds, but I'm not adventurous at all.

Kid's decorate your own sugar cookie:

The kids LOVED these! it came with so much frosting!

This dessert is not listed on the allears menu either. It was a chocolate mousse with a slight coffee flavor?

I ordered this. It was GREAT! I ate the whole thing.

Another dessert not listed on allears. This was my cousin's so not sure what it was!

Kid's turtle dessert:

Overall I enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was neat...dark and cozy, and animals right outside the window. Our server was a little slow and forgot a few things, but other than that, I would return!
