We got a free 1 week stay at BCV for our wedding. We just need to buy park tickets. We are buying a house so are on a bit of a tighter budget than before. I called AAA to find ticket prices for a 10 day park hopper but they only have up to a 7 day hopper. Anyone have this experience? Anyone know where to get AAA discounts on 10 day park hoppers.

Hello-

I'm a member of AAA as well and this is correct...they do not carry this ticket option. We are DVC owners and go to Disney all the time--7 days in the park is plenty---why not spend 3 days of down time just enjoying the pool, resort hopping or other activities that don't require any park entry. You may actually get to relax some instead of hitting the parks each day. Just my opinion.

After you get there you can upgrade the 7 day MYW passes to 10 day for approximately six dollars apiece.

That is, assuming the passes are standard Magic Your Way as opposed to AAA specials.

Some CM's who handle ticket upgrades don't know how to do this upgrade correctly but at Guest Relations inside a park you should have no problem.

I'm not absolutely sure whether the ticket before any usage can be so upgraded but after some use and before 14 days have passed since, the ticket can definately be so upgraded.

I have been researching for a trip at the end of Feb. and so far, the cheapest 10 no-expire hoppers I can find are on Ticketmania.

We go about ever year and a half, so AP's don't work, but the 10 day no-expire works for 2 or 3 trips.

You don't get any discounts by buying them at AAA anyways (maybe for the 4 day hoppers). I just priced it out at my AAA office and they basically read the Disney website to me (effectively they order them from Disney and give them to you - if you're interested in this, any AAA office should be able to order any ticket for you). I guess you save the $3 for shipping. However, I saved $30 or so by buying from Undercover Tourist (through the mousesavers link). Plus free shipping. The prices seem to vary between there, ticketmania, etc., so check around but I'd really be surprised if AAA was cheaper. Plus, my office at least refused to give me the AAA parking pass even if I bought the tickets through them - I had to book an entire package to get that despite what others have said on the boards.

We have gotten good discounts from AAA, so it pays to price them out (don't forget to make sure that all comparison prices include taxes), but their options are limited. Outside of AAA, I've found the best prices at Maple Leaf Tickets and they have a complete selection. The 10-day is the lowest price per day and if you get them with no expiration, then it's no biggie if you don't use all of the days. However, the biggest price cut comes when you hit the seven-day mark and the next break at 10-days is smaller, so you still save a lot with the seven-day hoppers.

I think ticketmomma.com has the cheapest 10 day prem. no exp. But doing the 3 day downtime sound real good too.

I've gotten discounted MYW tickets through Maple Leaf Tickets as well. I'd recommend checking them out.

I checked out ticketmomma and they were considerably more expensive than Undercover Tourist for the 10 day premium with exp, which is what I just bought from UT. Maybe a bigger discount on the non-exp ones? Not sure if the OP is looking for exp or not?

As far as the downtime - I'd still buy the 10 day for sure if you (OP) are buying the expiring ones and will be there at least 10 days. You can still count on those 3 days as "down" days, but at $2 per ticket per day, it gives you a backup in case the day you were planning on Fantasmic gets rained out, or you can only get an ADR at the restaurant you really want on another day, or you want to hit one last ride. We just discussed this before buying the 10 day tickets (we'll be there 13 days total, but 2 will be at Universal - staying there, and we'll have 7 day tickets there as well so a lot of overlap).

But we decided that all the flexibility I mentioned above (plus our kids would like to go for pin trading if nothing else) made it worth risking the $30 total ($2 per person per day x 3 extra days x 5 people) and don't want to buy a 7 day and risk prices going up, being charged a different amount, waiting in line to upgrade, etc. once we're there.

We're spending thousands of dollars - $30 for 3 extra days is certainly worth it. Obviously if the OP is buying expiring ones, there's a much bigger price difference, but then they wouldn't have those 3 days of down time anyways - I'm thinking splitting 10 days between 2 trips?

maybe it's me but I checked Disney and Maple Leaf and Maple leaf was about 5 dollars more than disney

There is no AAA discount for 10 passes. We found the cheapest price for a 10 day at Mapleleaf.

Remember that Disney does not include the 6.5% sales tax or any shipping fees when they quote ticket prices. The brokers will include these fees in their quotes.

I'm so glad that someone agrees with me about AAA going to the WDW website to get their info. and to book their packages. No one ever believes me about this. AAA does charge a small fee for special ordered park hoppers.

I went throught the entire checkout process right before I ordered so it included tax and shipping and Disney was $5 cheaper than Mapleleaf. Maybe i did something wrong though

The disney website doesn't include 6.5% sales tax.

But after doing some comparison shopping, I think Ticket Mania has the best deals.

I don't understand all this. Just two weeks ago, I found my best deal for 10-day park hopper passes through AAA. They are $313 per adult and $278 per child (including tax) for Park Hopper AND Water Park Options.

Incidentally, I just checked and they are still offering the same prices. And it's $254 / $219 without the Water Park option.

I note that this is apparently the "New York" AAA site - don't know if that makes a difference.

Well, I just bought these exact tickets (on Dec. 31) from Undercover Tourist for $308 per adult, no shipping charges. Don't know the kids pricing since my kids are all "adults"! Really, most of the sites people list here (UT, Mapleleaf, Ticketmania, AAA) tend to have different discounts for different tickets lengths and amenities. I know other sites had cheaper prices if I wanted non-expiring, but as of Dec. 31, at least, I checked every one recommended on these boards and UT was the cheapest (with the Mousesavers link). Disney was the $313 you're quoting (which would match AAA) and also had a $3 shipping fee. So since I was buying for 5 people, $5 difference on the ticket x 5 people plus $3 shipping was $28 difference. PLUS Undercover Tourist will refund them (unlike any other site I've found) for a minimal fee as long as you haven't used them yet. Seemed worth it just in case something happened.

Right on! One other small advantage of the AAA tickets is you get a Diamond Parking Pass, which lets you park next to the handicapped spots in all of the parks except AK. It also gives you 10-15% discounts at numerous shops and restaurants (non-Disney restaurants) throughout WDW.

I'm looking at the AAA website right now and they do not offer the 10 day passes. 7 day hoppers with options is A-$296 and C-$264 plus $4.95 S&H.

In July I purchased 10 day hoppers with no exp for $384.00 through Maple Leaf. I know the prices have gone up since then.

I just checked too - I am guessing it has something to do with the fact that it is the "New York" site. AAA has local sites depending on your state of residence. Weird that the different sites have different offers though.
