We went to the Halloween party on Tuesday and had a great time! The crowd level was ideal!! We rode 15 rides, most had very short waits and went through 4 treat trails. I will say it is amazing how some are so fast and others are so slow. Like the one that goes through innoventions, that was the slowest line ever! I wanted to get out but there was no way too. We thought the fireworks were amazing. Didn't get to see any characters, the lines for that was crazy, and we never made it to the front for the villians. As for the costumes, I saw some good ones, but not too many originals. Last years were much better. But Friday we were in DL until it closed for the party and Friday had some amazing costumes.

So compared to last years party, we enjoyed it more, the crowd level was better, fireworks were better. We had a great time!!

Glad to hear some more positive reports. We went Friday (10/11) and while it was crowded, it wasn't as bad as I feared based on a previous thread.

We started in toon Town and hit a few treat trails, met Goofy and Clarabelle, and rode gadget's and roger rabbit in 50 min. TIP: go left when you get in and then circle back. Everyone went right and we cruised through the places on the left.

Most other treat trails were decent. Didn't meet too many other characters (Peter pan and Wendy) and only rode POTC but got great spots for the parade just 20 min before and for the fireworks in the hub.

We attended on Oct. 8th as well, and had a wonderful time!

We found the longest treat trail line to be the one on the Monorail platform---about 25 minutes long!

All the others we entered were long(lengthwise), but moved very quickly.

Even though there were "Sold Out" signs posted outside the Park, they were selling Halloween Party tickets, the day of in Frontier-land.

The ticket activation line and ticket sales line were one and the same, and the sign said the sales were for that day only--not for future Party sales.

We got fantastic spots(were able to sit) for the fireworks, and got tons of candy! Can't wait for next year!

We were there the 11th too! We had a great time......did you see us? TRON family =) I was really concerned about the party after reading several people on here not having t he best of times, but we went in thinking it was going to be crowded and we were going to have no matter what. And you know, it wasn't nearly as crowded as we thought it would be. And we had a blast!

I'm glad someone had a good time at the 10/8 MHP. I was there also with my DD's and mom and sadly I did not have a good time. Maybe it was because I had very high expectations or maybe it was the amount of rude people I encountered that made my experience not great. We did a few treat trails in critter country and in frontierland and was able to walk right on to Pirates of the Caribbean, but once we hit main street it went all down hill. People pushing, I was constantly ran into by strollers and not once did I hear a " Sorry" We tried to get over towards Tomorrowland but the crowds were just not helpful in that. We manage to find a spot to sit for the Parade with the help a CM. We did not stick around for the Fireworks because I had had enough of people.

I went to this party with the hopes that it would be exciting and we would get to see characters that we don't normally get to see. But the party was just like a normal day at the park but I had to pay extra to be there. I was hoping that it was not going to be so crowded and it would have that "exclusive" feel. I'm actually in tears right now as I type this because I had paid lots of money to go to DLR and to the MHP and the one thing I was looking forward to was the MHP.

Unless they drop the amount of tickets they sell to the MHP, I do not think I will ever attend the party and that is sad because Halloween is my favourite time of year.

Us too!!! We were there 10/8 and had a good experience.

It was busy, but we did about 12 rides, visited the Halloween Carnival and had our picture taken with Chip and Donald, Toon Town Pre Party, 5 candy trails, participated in the Monster U dance party, viewed the fire works from NOS and saw the Cadaver Dans had a chance to eat churros & beignets and watched the Cavalcade at the end of the night. We did get stuck near the hub at one point which was awful, but we still enjoyed ourselves and looking forward to next years MHP :-)

We were also there on 10/8 and had a great time.
Did a few rides, did a lot of treat trails, loved seeing all the costumes and love  the special fireworks

We did see you guys when we came off star tours. My dh saw you first and thought you guys looked great!! Awesome costumes!!

We were there too! My little monkey 3 year old fell asleep around 8:30 but Smooth Criminal and his brother the Ninja took advantage of the short waits for Star Tours, Matterhorn, and Space Mountain. We didn't do all the treat trails and decided just to wave to Mickey and Minnie after hearing their wait was approximately an hour long! It will likely be a few years before we do MHP again but we did have a good time and for what we did didn't find the crowds too unbearable.

My little blonde Captain Hook and his zombie big brother had a blast. I feel like it was definitely more crowded than last year but we still had fun. The Innoventions treat trail and some of the Toon Town trails were quite long and we just enjoyed the atmosphere and costumes.

We got on Splash right before the park closed. One of my favorite memories will always be walking thought the almost deserted park when we exited the ride and seeing the decorations and fog on the river.

Sorry that you didn't have a good time, but I think you're right about high expectations being a problem. How you define "exclusive" can make a very big difference in how you enjoy the party. We felt the party was nothing like a normal day in the park. Even a sold out party is less crowded than a normally crowded day in DL. As has been stated before on these boards, a sold out party can mean as many as 40,000+ guests. Crowded? Yes, but much less crowded than a busy normal day. Using the information and strategies available to you on these boards can make all the difference in how "exclusive" the party feels to you. Main Street is very crowded when the party starts -- day guests leaving (and many are grumpy because they don't understand why they can't stay for the party without a ticket) and party guests arriving -- everyone trying to maneuver up and down one narrow street. That's why most advice tells party guests to start at the back of the park, avoiding Main Street until the day guests are gone. I can understand your frustration with the crowds (and there are rude people everywhere -- at the parties, on normal days, and outside of DLR, too), but I'm sorry that you decided to skip the fireworks. They are really a highlight of the party -- one of the best shows DL puts on. And they are truly exclusive -- with few exceptions, only party guests can see "Halloween Screams." The exclusivity of the party includes the fireworks, the chance for grownups to be in costume at DL, the atmosphere -- decorations and CM enthusiasm, and the fun to be had with other people sharing the Halloween fun. If your expectations didn't include those things, then I can understand why you were so disappointed.

I did enjoy the extra halloween decorations that only happen at the party, and it was great to see adults dressed up for halloween. My daughter got to see someone dressed as Gandolf and she had her picture taken with them. I did have high expectations when it came to crowds, I had read the boards and read that people said that it can be crowded but 1 persons version of crowded is different then another. I let my high expectations get the best of me. The daughters had a great time and they enjoyed the trick or treating in Disneyland. I figure as long as they are happy that is all that really matters. I'm going to take this as a learning experience. I do regret not seeing the fireworks though but there is nothing I can do about that now. Who Knows....maybe I will come back and give MHP another try one year.... Now that I know what to really expect.

Glad you are chalking this one up to experience. At least give yourself the chance to watch a good video (HD?) of Halloween Screams on YouTube -- not the same as being there in person, but still lots of fun.
