I'm suffering slightly this morning

All self inflicted so I'm not asking for sympathy

The party went really well, we all had a great time.

We're off to Ellis's karate grading now then onto a one year olds birthday party - I need more paracetamol at just the thought of all that noise

Rachel has had "lock down drills" at her middle school too. All the dooors to her school are kept locked and you have to be "buzzed in" to get in during the day. It is a very sad and scary world we live in.

Angelina said they have had several "lock down drills" over the past few years at her high school. It's a sad world we live in today.

We got 5-7 inches of light powdery snow yesterday. They were originally forcasting 1-3 inches but then they upped it because they said it was lake effect. Stay safe if you're out on the roads!

Very snowy today and storm warning through Mon. morning. We've already had several inches and drove home in freezing rain. Fortunately there was plenty of snow on the roads. They hadn't been plowed, so we could get some traction.

We're suppose to get up to 10 inches by Mon. Who knows. In this area, we get a lot of warnings and get very little. It seems the only time they are right is when we get our lake affect snow. (We get more of that than anything) Good old Lake Erie. It really knows how to ruin your plans.

We still have xmas shopping to do and we're planning on doing it tomorrow... If it's too bad out there... it looks like I'll be baking cookies instead. (Just what I need.)

We're just getting rain here now. Temp keeps hovering at 36.

I'd like a day off on Monday to catch up on house work before the holiday and get my voice back--sore throat. Philip loves that I have to whisper.

Weather days are one of the FEW perks of my job.

I work in an office, but our CEO is very safety conscious. If we're at work and the weather looks like it going to get bad, she sends us home.

If it's bad on our way in to the office...they don't have a problem with staying home.

Thanks! I am going to get the day off. My voice is totally gone today and I had to have Phililp arrange a sub for me. Now all the work getting the sub plans together.

Off to the doc tomorrow.

They had a chocolate fountain at the party - it was a better cure than paracetamol

Ellis did his grading brilliantly - we dont get the results for a while, but I'm sure he passed

He's now (unofficially) a red and white belt

Our winter storm warning expired around Midnight - we ended up with about 8 inches of snow, which is quite a bit for this area. Thank goodness this one came over a weekend ... I think I would have spontaneously combusted in my car if I'd tried to make it to work and back in the middle of this storm.

I'm off to clean house and who knows ... we may finally get around to decorating for Christmas.

So far it's just rain here, but the temp has is dropping. The flurries aren't sticking but are beautiful and festive.

Stuck on the couch and keep watching Disney on the travel channel.

Karen, now I see why you made the comment about the 31 cheesecakes we had to deliver the week leading up to Thanksgiving. I wish I knew you liked cheesecake so much, I could have sent one (or two) across the pond for your enjoyment.................
