Good god! I want today to end:sad2:

Neil got home in time to whizz to the vets... we went through all the "goodbye" incase he didnt come home...Ellis was heartbroken and sobbing for ages:sad1: ...finally got Ellis settled and used to the idea - Neil comes back with Patch - still alive!:yay:

They have given him 5ml of antibiotics - 5ml =$40:scared1:

No doubt he wont last much longer but at least he's still around today:goodvibes

They dont really know whats wrong but he's an old hamster so its just a case of wait and see.

Its tough being a parent:sad2: - I need a drink.

Hurrah for Patch!
His medicine cost more than what you paid to buy him I'm sure.

Sean had a hamster that got old and sick and needed to be but down.
I have a best friend who is a Biology professer at a local college, when I told her she said that she could put him down for free in her lab. She actually asked if she could have him because she was doing some mandatory paper she needed to be published and her work was on "The inner ears of rodents", so our hamster "HI" (full name was HI JOHN FUNNY:rotfl: Sean named him when he was 5), ..... anyway Emily said if we gave her the hamster to put down she could finish some needed research too, so it was a good cause.

I told my son that HI was going to be put to sleep and that he would benefit the college's research too.
I guess he was ok with it, he didn't seem too upset then.......

Just this past weekend he brought it up.... he says "remember when you told me how HI was going to be put to sleep and given to Emily's research? That was awful! How could you tell that to a 6 year old kid, How mean of a mother were you anyway! That was cruel"

:confused3

Guess I didn't realize I scarred him for life!:rotfl2:

Hi everyone!

Just taking a quick break at work...

Hmmm...sounds like there are a lot of fun games for the Wii.....what's Dance, Dance revolution? Is this Wii contraption possibly actually good for some exercise? Then I might be interested....Im horrible at traditional arcade, playstation-type games so I pretty much ignored the whole Wii thing...

thanks.
i'm afraid to ask what that will cost.:headache:

i made the mistake of telling robin the other day (as a joke) that maybe its time to call arless(from old yeller). she didnt find it funny at all.:rolleyes1

Best wishes for your dog Mike:grouphug:

Anyone know anything about the dinosaur restaurant opening in DTD? - I think its opening Fall 08 so it will be open for our xmas visit:yay:

Shelley - another fun game is "Wario smooth moves" - you have to hold the wiimote in all sorts of different positions and do different actions - Neil and I were fighting like kids over whose turn it was to play:rotfl:

Good to know. We got Mario Party in the package along with the Star Wars trilogy.

Seriously - be careful when you box... my arms and shoulders hurt for 2 days afterwards.... I boxed for nearly 2 hours straight (I was slightly drunk:rolleyes1 ) and I woke up the next morning and I could barely move:lmao:

I gave Ellis a new game today for being "brave" at the skin prick text - its called "Chicken shoot" - says it all in the title really - shooting at cartoon chickens a they fly by... we were shouting "die chickens die!" as we played:lmao: - bet the new neighbours are wondering whats going on:rotfl2:

Hey did you celebrate by getting some cashews to snack on?

went to the family archives...
michael and cassie...long time ago....:cloud9:

Jen - its actually great aerobic exercise - especially the boxing - I end up puffing and panting and you really got a good workout. I started off the one day (playing on my own) in a jumper with a t shirt underneath..got too hot so took off the jumper,... got too hot so I ended up in my undies boxing in my lounge:lmao: - thank god no-one can see into my lounge:lmao: :lmao:

Theres also a new attachment coming out fairly soon especially to incorporate exercise moves and yoga etc. Maybe you could borrow a firends for a night and try it?

Yep! - I think he only cost about $10 in the first case... add the 2 cages and dozens of toys we bought him and the ball and racetrack and we're up to $300:lmao: - he's worth it:goodvibes - I must admit - I'll be real sad too when he's gone - he's the cutest little thing:goodvibes

Now there's an image for the KK2 calendar, Mike! :rotfl: :lmao:

Are any of the games appropriate/accessible to little kids? If we got one, I'm sure Thomas would want to play on it....some frineds have one and he sees the older kids playing and wants to play too, but they're playing Mario-something games....

Andy- Hope you evening is better than your day!!!

Thanks Shelley, I'm leaving here in a little bit to see my orthopaedic surgeon for the yearly check-up on my knees............:rolleyes1

I picked up my x-rays, to take with me, and they don't look too good............. According to the report that was in with th ex-rays, I have bone spurs in BOTH of my knee joints. I could actually see the spurs in the x-rays myself...........

Nope.... We still cant eat them around him, but I could now eat a few when he's gone to bed as long as I dont touch furniture or kiss him before I brush my teeth etc. The fear of cross contamination is still a big risk cos all nuts are processed in the same factories, so there could still be a trace of peanut on them. It wont make a difference to his diet, but it will help ours:rolleyes1 - I can now eat my chicken and cashew nut chinese meal without having to deport Ellis to Grandma's for the weekend:rotfl: (when I was desperate for a nut "fix", I used to let him stay overnight and half the following day so Mommy could "o.d." on nuts once or twice a year. I still dream of chicken satay (chicken in peanut sauce):cloud9:

i was thinking of using that one you posted from formal nite with you and pete.:thumbsup2 just have to figure out how to edit pete out of the pic.

Mike, I think that's the nicest thing anyone's said to me all day :goodvibes

Pete may not like it though
