Hi everyone  Just BOBing in here real quick to say hi. We've been very busy lately so I haven't had much time for DISing but I am hoping that will change in the next few weeks and I'll get on here again more often.

This is my first post on thread # 4. Have I missed anything important?

Yes, we've decided that you're in charge of planning all the DIS meets for the cruise! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Just kidding! We've been discussing a lunch at Lumiere's (either at the end of #3 or the beginning of #4) but I think that's the only new thing that's cruise related....

Does anybody here get the AllEars weekly newsletter? This was in this weeks newsletter:
"Disney Cruise Line has extended its contract with Port Canaveral through 2023. In addition, DCL has signed an agreement to base its two new ships, scheduled to launch in 2011 and 2012, there. Under the 15-year agreement, the Canaveral Port Authority will extend the dock and enhance Disney's terminal building to allow for additional luggage and passenger capacity. The enhanced facility will feature several "Disney touches" for children. The authority has also agreed to build a multi-level parking structure by 2011."

Interesting that the new ships will based in Port Canaveral.

There was a thread on this on the main board - I'm thinking that's kind of cool.

We could all start speculating on itineraries.....my guess would be some longer 10-11 day cruises to the southern Caribbean or taking over the 7 day routes. Let's face it - lots of repeat cruisers will just want to go and check out the new ships!

Cass - so sorry I missed your birthday yesterday - heres some belated birthday wishes:goodvibes

Good morning/afternoon all!

Cass, I forgot - Happy Birthday!

Andy - glad to hear Hazel's friend is ok - that would really be scary.

Karen - glad to hear the park was fun, even if the driving to/from was a little problematic. Did you take pictures???

:bday: party: BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASS!party: :bday:

Thanks for the birthday wishes :goodvibes I'm just glad it's all over now

This was also in this weeks newsletter:
"The Travel Channel has announced four new programs, hosted by Samantha Brown, under the umbrella "Season of Disney" to air at 9 p.m. on Fridays, starting April 11. The first program will be "Season of Disney: Samantha Brown's Favorites," in which she discusses what she likes best at Disney World and Disneyland. The remaining shows in the series are: "Season of Disney: On a Dime" on April 18; "Season of Disney: Splurge!" on April 25; and "Season of Disney: Royal Treatment" on May 2. Verify times and dates with your local listings."

I know some of you are Samantha Brown fans. I am marking these show dates in my calendar so I remember to DVR them!

I hate that we don't get that channel  On the other hand I would be watching WAY more tv if we did :rolleyes1

Andy, sorry I missed your post about what happened but in any case sounds like everyone is safe so that's good news :goodvibes

Jen, here's your image...don't forget to save it to your own computer :thumbsup2

A lunch at Lumiere's sounds good. I think it was the first cruise we went on (hard to believe that was over 7 years ago) we had a DIS lunch meet at Lumiere's and lunch was good there. It's funny we have never gotten back there for lunch though, just not enough time I guess.

We definitely can't wait to get on one of the new ships! I always wanted to get to the southern Caribbean, plus by the time the new ships are sailing Rachel will be finishing high school :scared1: so our vacation schedule should get a little more flexible so we could actually maybe do a 10 or 11 day cruise if that is what they would do.

I guess if they are based out of Port Canaveral the rumors of Alaska may not come to truth :sad1: unless they'd send a ship out to Alaska for the summer and have it at Port Canaveral the rest of the year.

Maryann called Hazel at 8:45 last night to let Hazel know that she ans her daughter had just gotten back home. Maryann said she sat on the bridge, in her car, for four hours before the bridge was finally opened.

Andy glad everything turned out OK! 4 hours in the car with a young child is an eternity :scared1:

Beautiful pic, as usual, Andy!

Did you take this one, or find it online? If you took it, I'd love to know where that beach is.....:sunny:

Yes, I took this pic at Disney's DVC Vero Beach Resort Nov. 2002, I have many sunrise pics taken over a couple different mornings, you will be seeing more of them in the days to come.

BTW Jen, I just got home for lunch and Hazel has Ham and Cabbage cooking in the slow cooker, it smells so yummy in the house. I want to dig into the Ham and Cabbage now..............

We got SNOW again yesterday....yes, SNOW!!! :headache:

It's sticking too, and it's way too cold :cold: :cold: :cold: for March.

Spring can come anytime now, really.....

I know how you feel, this winter just will not let up..........:headache:

Hazel is babysitting her niece's 4 year old little girl. So far this morning, Hailie set the bathroom door to lock, so when Hazel closed the door for vacumn the carpet, the bathroom door locked. I had to get a screwdriver and open the door when I got home for lunch. Then I found out that either Hazel or Hailie jammed our DVD player, so I had to play fix-it man again and get the DVD player unjammed. I'm almost afraid to go back to work after lunch, who knows what I might come home to later..............:confused3 :lmao: :confused3

Karen, loved your piccies and Patch is just too cute!!!

The sky looked a little scary in the pic when the kids were on the tubes in the water.

OK, I've got to get some lunch now.............:wave2:

We had lunch at Lumiere's once during the '07 cruise, and we really enjoyed it - although I will confess Pete and I had bacon cheeseburgers! Not the classiest thing to order, but our burgers had 6 strips of bacon on them - yum!

Oohh....sounds good! I have no idea what I'm going to make for dinner tonight - most likely I'll be flipping pancakes. I like doing breakfast for dinner every now and again, and pancakes are easy on the electric griddle I got for Christmas...:goodvibes

Gotta love kids!

I hope Hazel, Hailie, and your house all survive the day!

(I have a 5 year old...imagine what my house looks like)

I was a bad boy and dug into the Ham and Cabbage for lunch, luckily there is plenty left for dinner, especially since Angelina doesn't eat cabbage.

We also enjoy eating breakfast foods for dinner from time to time. We don't "eat" breakfast very often at home, so it's nice to get to have breakfast at dinnertime..............:thumbsup2

Just about time to get back to work, I hope the house is still standing when I get home later, as "Hurricane Hailie" will be here until about 5:30pm............:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Ellis and I made pizzas for lunch today:goodvibes - he had fun! (and I enjoyed eating them:rolleyes1 )

Mine was extra yummy - goats cheese, smoked ham, mushrooms, peppers, cheddar, sweetcorn, onions...I ate loads:rolleyes1
