We're in deep Doo Doo!

I'm ready to scream....It appears our travel agent or DCL made a big boo boo. They currently have us in a cat 12 instead of a GTY cat 12. We're hoping it's just a minor mistake that can be fixed.

If it can't...Small World travel is getting an earful.

:eek::eek::eek:

Just a question. You can specify GTY when you book? This cruise, we selected the cabin from the DCL web site when we booked. On our first cruise, we were GTY, but I thought that DCL decided that since we didn't know enough to select a specific cabin. I gather that having a GTY ressie gives a shot at an upgrade. Is it more likely than someone who books a specific room getting an upgrade?

Thanks, Matthew.

Sorry, I was reading Port Canaveral hotel reviews on Trip Advisor. I don't want any more anyway!! :goodvibes

We have stayed at the Residence twice, very nice and includes breakfast. Very clean, but you ahve to pay for a shuttle.

ALASKA!!!

(Didn't seem like the people at the webcast sounded all that excited!!!)

OMG! I just am catching up and saw the new Disney announcement!

Bob has wanted to go to Alaska on a cruise for years!
And now it'll be on Disney!

Guess I'll be pulling out a credit card onboard to rebook for an Alaskan cruise!:thumbsup2:cool1::banana::woohoo::yay:

I wonder if they will sell out before our cruise? It would be great to get the 10% off. Can we book on the 21st and then redo it on the ship?

Just call DCL...they said the travel agent booked us as a cat 12 only.

I have a call in to the TA to call us as soon as she gets in the office. :sad1:

Man, that is a bummer! I just looked at the DCL website and they are still accepting Cat 12 GTY bookings for two adults. You should be able to get it changed. It'll be a race against to clock for you since my guess is, that they are assigning rooms this week.

Essentially, the GTY ressie allows DCL to place you wherever they want to. The cruiser gives up the ability to choose their own cabin in exchange for the possibility that they may be moved up a category or two. It also allows DCL to "overbook" a category. Like the Category 12's, there are only 13 cabins in this category. But Disney can sell a ton of these at a low discounted price if it appears that the ship is not filling to their satisfaction. Then when the cruise date nears, the simply plug those excess cat 12 people wherever they have room.

Oh, and by the way, I'm back from our mini DIS meet with Lori and Scott.
What a great time we had:yay::woohoo::hug:

More to come soon and pictures, but I'm still catching up:surfweb:

Yep, you have to specify GTY to possibly get an upgrade.

Us too! :thumbsup2 We will probably look at 7/19 so we are on the ship for some family birthdays. :wizard:

I will have to wait til I get home to upload pics. But we had a great time. We didn't get back to our room until 10 minutes before 1am.

We had such a great time too:hug:

I'd be uploading pics right now BUT:

As I was dising here this morning I absentmindedly reached over without LOOKING to insert my photo card into the correct slot in my computer and put in the WRONG slot! A MUCH BIGGER SLOT! IT FELL IN!:scared1::headache:

So now as soon as I catch up here I'll be turning off the computer, opening it up, pulling out the card reader slot and digging out my card!:headache:

Aha, another bit of DCL knowledge. :thumbsup2

We got lucky then on our Med cruise. We had a great cabin midship. It was the same category that we booked, but we loved the location. We are staying in the same cabin again this cruise. Our "home on the seas" as it were. :goodvibes

WOW...TA just called (on a sunday) I think she knows she's in deep doo doo. :rotfl2:

She said she's never seen a room assigned to a cat 12 unless you choose it. So she's obviously blaming DCL.

She calling DCL as we speak and will call me back later this afternoon.

OK, can MG brag a little here? I just got off the phone with Kristin (DD who lives in AZ just in case some of you don't know) and she has been selected to be a therapist in the Ford Ironman Triathlon in Arizona on November 22nd this year. (It's also their first wedding anniversary) That's pretty darn good for someone who is still a first semester student. She was picked along with someone else from Phoenix. Only two students were chosen from the entire state!!! :woohoo: She won't be working with any of the top athletes though because they all bring along their own therapists.

Also, I'm thinking Jesse (Kristin's DH) may actually be participating in the triathlon too. Not sure, but when I asked Kristin, she just laughed and said "You never know mom". :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: That sounds like a yes to me!

Gosh...am I ever proud of those kids! :yay:

Sorry kids, just had to brag a bit. Carry on.

Wow, that's awesome Nancy! :cool1:

What exactly does Kristen do? And Jesse?

So glad you're back on board, missed you:hug:

Nancy - what an accomplishment for Kristin! I know you are very proud. That's great :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I've been running around today.. :drive: returning things, buying gifts, blah blah.... soon I'll be off to drop DS at a b-day party in the mall, do a little shopping.

Then I can come home, relax and have a glass of champagne :woohoo:

No special occasion - just left over from the anniversary. ;) I think I'll drink to - 42 more days!!!!! :drinking1:woohoo::yay:

OOOOO, my favorite!:thumbsup2
