This one comes home in a week, ds2 goes in the Airforce next May:sad2:

Well, you still get  from me now. I'll be sure to send you some more next May though. :grouphug:

Go, you will have good quality time!!!! You can pick out your winter house!!!

My "winter house" will be in Cape Coral Florida. We already own
some land down there but need to build yet. :dance3:

We are going to a good bye picnic next week, Good friends daughter is engaged and boyfriend is PCSing to Washington DC. She will be missed, but excited about the new life. The boyfriend won;t deploy as much now.

We can be sad together Joanne. :sad1:

really?? when we were there, we ran into PING's twin sister who also works there.:thumbsup2 i think her name was "PONG".:rolleyes1:laughing:

:rotfl2: Only you could make me laugh at something so lame :rotfl2:

That's a bummer. :headache: I was looking forward to those. Why did they take them away? Did someone get hurt? It seems a shame, they seemed really popular. How much are jet skis?

Matthew

I thought I heard somewhere that they had trouble with the owner of the Banana Boats. They were not Disney owned. Now, I could be waaaay off base here too. My memory is not what it used to be anymore. :scared1:

Sounds like a business opportunity to me. Who wants to become a banana boat mogul and take over the Castaway Cay contract?:banana::banana:

There are worse ways to make a living. :cloud9:

The girls and I talked about shore excursions last night. Beth was at work on the night shift. Here's what we are thinking about.

St. Maarten

Anguilla Dolphin Encounter

I can't find a dolphin one...

OR
Golden Eagle Catamaran

Adult:$82 (ages 10 and up)
Child :$46 (ages 5-9)

St. Thomas / St. John

Magens Bay Beach Break

Adult:$47 (ages 10 and up)
Child :$37 (ages 3-9)

Castaway Cay

Banana Boat Ride & Mountain Bikes to tour the island

The girls asked about parasailing again, but I would like to do something different. Besides, last time was so great, I wouldn't want to spoil it. It seemed like we were up longer than most and got dipped in the water three times! :woohoo:

PAIGE - Do you have access to the prices? We can't see them yet.

Matthew

Elaine, My dad, and sister all did this last cruise. It was a little pricey, but an enjoyable time. Make sure you do NOT stand in the harness! Just sit it in it. I did that and had a killer wedge and it took me a few minutes to relax and enjoy the ride.

The Dutchman is viewable clearly from the walkway to the beach. You could even save a few bucks and rent a non motorized watercraft and float on over to.

Our plans are to go on the St. John/Trunk Bay snorkeling excursion in St. Thomas/St. John.

On St. Maarten we are just going to the beach. My dad says there is a nice beach that is very convenient to the ship and the prices for chairs, umbrellas etc are very reasonable. While there we are renting a couple of jet skis.

Chris, do you know the name of the beach in St. maarten that is close to the ship?

We're working on our shore excursion plans also. For St. Maarten, Pete is doing the 12 Meter Regatta with his dad, and I want to do thr Under 2 Flags tour. We then talked about also doing the afternoon beach break excursion, but I don't know if we'll be back in time for dinner, and that's Pirate Night.

Paige! Hey there!

Can I also impose upon you for some shore excursion info??? Do the excursions list start and end times when you book, or only start times?

any root beer??

you got all that food on seperate plates, right bud?:thumbsup2

Yes, the other three riders were Tea Totalers and had root beer :goodvibes

The food, not to disparage my fellow Englishmans, was the worst example of food touching you have every seen. Imagine, don't get sick now, Clump of mash potatoes with three sausage leaning ontop with mustard squirted on them. Touching everything was spinach soaked in white suauce...OOOOOO :rotfl2:

Have a great evening...

Di's celebrating with the team a basketball victory, so I prepared a non touching meal of sausage with baked potatoe and green peas. ;)

Walt :cool1:

I am not sure. It is not an official excursion but my dad knows about it. I will just follow him down the dock.

In the passporters, the dolphin encounter at St Thomas was really pricey. Something like $188 (i think) I'd have to double check that.

All I know is I thought it was way too pricey for 30 minutes. It also took a long time to get there. It was like an 8 hr excursion, total. Not for me! :headache:

where do i sign up??:banana::banana::banana:

I could so live on CC!!!! I think all the excursions come over from the closest Island, I don't think any of the motorized water sports are Disney operated.

I am not sure. It is not an official excursion but my dad knows about it. I will just follow him down the dock.

I was hoping there was a close beach we could do after the island tour!!

For the excursions I booked, they listed the end times as well as the start times. 2 flags tour is 8:45 - 11:45.

Now I see why I couldn't find the dolphin one. I was going too fast and it was listed as Tortola Dolphin Encounter instead of Anguilla Dolphin Encounter....(Rob was waiting for me tohead out to the movies to see Night at the Museum)

Child :$162 (ages 3-9)

Tortola Dolphin Encounter (ST-37)
Journey to the island paradise of Tortola for a one-of-a-kind dolphin encounter you're sure to never forget.

Escape across the sparkling Caribbean Sea — where endless blue sky mingles with sweeping coastal views — during a one-hour ferry ride from St. Thomas to Tortola, the largest of the British Virgin Islands. Along the way, snap a picture of St. Thomas, St. John, Norman Island, and Pelican Island from your seaside perch, and listen to your guide relay stories about the history of this sun-kissed region. Upon your arrival in Tortola, pass through Immigration before boarding an air-conditioned motor coach or taxi and embarking on a delightful, hour-long island drive — taking in such famous sites as Ridge Road, Sky World, Guana Island and Round Rock — to Dolphin Discovery. Overlooking the sparkling Caribbean Sea, Dolphin Discovery is one of the few places in the world to offer people of all ages the unique opportunity to partake in up close and personal experiences with dolphins, and is committed to the conservation and protection of marine mammals. Upon your arrival, meet and greet the facility's dolphin trainers and take in an interactive introduction to these gentle creatures of the deep, including a discussion of their anatomy, physiology and natural history. After your orientation, make your way to a submerged, waist-deep platform and immerse yourself in a magical in-water exchange with real live dolphins. Learn how gentle creatures of the deep respond to hand signals and positive reinforcement from the trainers and discover the fantastic underwater communication system inherent to all dolphins. Then, delight in an unforgettable hands-on interaction as you are invited to glide your hand over the dolphin's soft skin, share a friendly flipper shake and receive a friendly kiss with your newfound friend.

Following your 30-minute mammal meet-and-greet, savor the flavor of a delicious buffet-style lunch, and bask in the sea breezes as they wash over you in nearly every direction. Afterward, journey by air-conditioned motor coach back to the dock, where a ferry will be waiting to take you back to St. Thomas. Upon your arrival in Charlotte Amalie, make your way once again through Immigration. Finally, lose yourself once again to the stunning seaside views as you embark on a quick 10-minute walk back to the ship.

Thanks again Paige. I think between the comments and the price, we'll go with the Golden Eagle Catamaran. I don't want to spend almost $800 for a shore excursion. Besides, I have really great memories of a catamaran whale watching trip that Beth and I took in Santa Barbara, CA many years ago. (Before kids were even thought of.)

I think we all would enjoy the catamaran.

Matthew
