To Jen & Pete - Tommy's postcard arrived today. I'll get one in the mail to him ASAP.

We've been out gallivanting all day with our friends from Vermont - their grandson was in a hockey tournament at 2 of our neighboring ice rinks so we spent the day with them - as if we don't have enough hockey with our own kid! But they came all the way from VT. If any of you are ever in Maine for hockey we'll do the same for you!

Good evening everyone. We are having crazy weather here too. I just ran out to do errands and it said 66 degrees. It is windy, rainy and we too, have a tornado watch until 2 AM.

Hi Chris! Thank goodness our tornado watch expired. Hope all goes well with you tonight.

I was down the shore today and it was 65 degrees - totally weird.

It's just a watch, I am not concerned. It's just weird that it is so warm in the middle of November!

actually we are having a very warm November aswell.. but we are not in tornado country.. if they happen is is really rare! We have Chinooks that help keep it warm some days. But this year had been VERY warm sofar!!

After our very first cruise - which was a short 3 day to celebrate our 10th anniversary and find out if we liked it - we drove back from Port Canaveral and saw a tornado. We were in Macon, Ga, and the tornado crossed the highway up ahead of us. We debated stopping and getting in a ditch but decided we were far enough back. I did get out the video camera though and take pictures. It was amazing! Our first one though was driving to the PCB area (though we like Cape San Blas better than PCB) we drove through something we later found out was a tornado - it was awful. We thought it was a storm - granted, a strange storm since it seemed to be nothing but wind and red clay dirt - and we out-drove it. When we got to the next stop, we opened the van doors to find red clay dirt - that had been swirling around us - caked thickly all inside them.

I NEVER want to see a tornado up close :scared1: I will leave that to the stormchasers!

Scary? Yes, especially the one in Alabama on the way to PCB that we didn't find out was a tornado till later. We thought, looking back, we must have been more in it than the one in Macon where we could see the whole funnel cloud.

Freaked out? I was driving in the Alabama one. Mack was trying to keep the kids feeling normal. I was definitely freaking out but silently - trying not to scare the kids. In the Macon one we felt sort of like storm chasers - it was wild.

The adrenaline rush must have been something after that!
