Your pool looks so nice and tempting, no wonder you want to get out in the pool!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

That's why very little house work get's done in the summer. It really was the best thing we ever spent the cash on. I love having all the kids in my back yard then I know who they are with and what they are doing.

Here they are playing rock band inthe living room. I figure in September the house will be clean again.

Definitely worth it Cheryl. It was, however, heartbreaking. We actually walked "in" the lake and took pictures of the house we all saw on the news.:sad1:

Nancy thanks for posting the pictures. If the weather and time permit Rach and I will definitely go look around ourselves Tues. morning. It is still so hard to believe that a lake like that could just "disappear". Did the Dells seem quieter than usual for a summer weelkend. I would imagine this is affecting them in the busy tourist season.

thanks.:grouphug:
robin's hanging in there.:sad2:
we're leaving shortly to visit her mom.

my appt. went great. i even talked the doc into seeing him once a year instead if every 6 months.:woohoo:
i'd better watch out or i wont be able to use my heart as an excuse to get out of doing things anymore.:rolleyes1

Good news Mike.

Cheryl,

How are thing down your way? What's your thoughts on MW? Think they'll make it to the end of the year?

We're keeping busy and I'm still trying to skim back and catch up here. I'm really hoping all these cuts they made are going to keep MW "alive" at least until the end of the year for our sake. The decreasing gas prices have to be helping too now, if only the gas prices just stay down.

Hey, we're looking at possibly doing a driving trip next year. What places out east in the mountains do y'all recommend? Maybe in the Virginia's/Carolina's or KY/TN area.

One location was down in the Southeast corner of TN, near Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Other locations we're looking at would be:

DC/Williamsburg
Niagara Falls, with a stop in Hershey, PA
Mt. Rushmore and a National Park or two in WY or CO
Ozark Mtns in MO/AR

Anyone think one is better than the other?

We've been to a few of the places you have listed. We were just to Niagara Falls on our trip in June and we loved it, it was one of our favorite days from our vacation :thumbsup2 We spent one whole day there and we only had time for the park on the American side so we all said we'd like to go back and spend a few days in the area and get to the Canadian side too. We did the Maid of the Mist boat ride and we also took the elevator down and did the Cave of the Winds walk, both were great to do! We were there towards the end of June and the crowds weren't bad so if you went the beginning of June you should definitely beat the crowded "tourist season", we were told it starts really getting crowded in July. Whenever Al or Rach get our pictures on the computer I'll post some from Niagara Falls.
We were to DC and Williamsburg when Rach was 6 or 7 and that is a great trip and then Rach and I went to Williamsburg area again when she was in 5th grade on a week long school field trip. I love the Williamsburg area, there is the history and the Busch Gardens in Williamsburg is a beautiful park. There is so much to see in DC too.
We spent a few nights in Gatlinburg 21 years ago and it is a beautiful area but it seemed pretty "touristy". It reminded us of the Dells but in a mountain setting.

Mike Kristen and Asiah are riding on bus through Dayton, Ohio on their way to Ann Arbor Michigan for the race. They just called me and I thought of you and Robin. Diane

Hi Di,

Tell them to stop and see Cassie. :woohoo: They probably went right by her. :)

Special thanks to everyone for all the cards and well wishes. Thank you.

I'm doing fine. I'm ready to get back to normal. :)

Good Afternoon everyone!

We are going to one of my best friends house for a bbq and swim party.
Talk to you later.

Robin, nice to see you back.

Oh drats, just as I went to post this message our cable was knocked out. Just arrived home from Olive Garden as a severe thunderstorm was moving across our area.

Have a great time Becky...we'll need to finalise our meet arrangements for 15th soon as Chris leaves for US on 6th Aug.

Hi Steve, Bye Steve, I've got to get a move on it now, Hazel is giving me THE LOOK!!! :lmao:

Sorry I missed you Andy. I got called into work. Serves me right for saying that everything was going alright. Oh well, it was actually and answer to prayer as we are getting ready for vacation and I needed some extra $$ to keep me from using the credit cards on this vacation.

Jeff, DC is wonderful (the sightseeing not the politics), I've been there twice. Williamsburg has a LOT of historical significance. If you decide on that area then you'll want to do that, but remember that all of Williamsburg was destroyed and rebuilt. So it's a touristy thing now. But the amount of history that you will expose your son to will be priceless. On the way you'll want to hit Mt. Vernon (it's on the way) I was really impressed with that. Last time we were there we also made a stop in Philadelphia and Valley Forge. It was a real tour of early American History.

If you decide on Mt Rushmore, then make a path through the Badlands. Last time I was there it was breathtaking. There's also a small town, Mitchell, SD that has the Corn Palace. Not a big deal but a bit interesting and fun for "on the way."

Slow weekend ... :goodvibes

ds # 2 is on bottom and two boys next door.

Very nice. I sure could use one. We just spent the last two hours pulling "Creeping Charlies" from the flower beds where Tony works. YUCK!!! I really need a pool now!!:thumbsup2

It was pretty quiet in town Cheryl. We took a walk from one end to the other and back and it was like walking through on a weekday in before the season starts. Pretty much deserted yet some of the hotels are reporting non-vacancies. :confused3

What you trying to say Heather?,i have feelings you know.....:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Evening Mother Goose....:flower3:

Hi Chris
Just to let you know that it's stil a little smokey around here so make sure DS has his meds. Sean said that SF is doing ok though now that the Santa Cruz fire is done and over with.

Heather,
You come up with a time and place that is good for you and we will be there.
