Brenda, I won't be taking part in the Martini Tasting. I did it on the repo and all I can say is YUK! Looks like I'm strictly a sweet drink girl.

Join the club! I am too! :goodvibes

You guys do know that there are sweet martinis, right? And in my opinion, the best martinis are made with vodka, not gin.

I've had chocolate martinis, espresso martinis, pomegranate martinis, lemon drop martinis, creme brulee martinis, cosmopolitans which are made with cranberry juice, and perhaps my favorite ... the French martini which is similar to a cosmo but includes champagne.

If there isn't any interest in doing this then we should just drop it - it's no big deal to me. I was thinking of submitting a list of requested drinks to try that were all vodka based and included a mix of fruity martinis and cream based martinis which I thought might be more palatable to everyone. The martini tasting we did in Diversions a few years ago was really good- five small tasting portions for $15 and it was a mix like I just mentioned.

Instead of setting up something specific for the group why don't we just plan on an hour or two where those who are interested meet up at Diversions and order their own tasting? Then the folks who don't want the drinks but who might want to socialize can come too.

Just a thought. :goodvibes

But you looked so good, Cass.

Thanks Heather, you`re sweet but those flabby arms of mine did not look `good` :lmao: :rotfl2:

Brenda, I think that`s a great idea!!! :thumbsup2

Were off to see my niece this evening, so folks, you'll have to wait till tomorrow for the next installment of pictures - Acapulco. Sorry!

And before you all shout at me..I'm signing off.

Catch you on the flip side!

Excellent ... first good idea I've had all week! :lmao:

Let's just do that instead ... more people would probably show up for that, anyway. And we'll make sure not to try this on a Sunday since Diversions will be crawling with football fans. :scared1:

Ok, I added it to the DIS meets page. :thumbsup2

Nanc, there's not much to do really for the smoothie meet other than picking a time and place. Any ideas for that??

That's exactly why I picked that one to do! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
I was going to just plan it for the same time as the Booze Meets just at the Cove Cafe instead. But.....I really like Bendy's idea much much better. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a plan!:thumbsup2

About the other boozy bob meets... should we just make one big booze meet and then have everyone order whatever drinks they want???

Would that be easier???

Or does everyone want a particular drink meet for each one???

Would there be too many BOBers for that???

Am I asking too many questions???

:rolleyes1 :lmao:

Well, I know when we did the wine tasting and the beer tasting last year, there was a class that went along with it, so that would be tricky with everyone getting all different kinds of drinks.

I think there may be 'one big booze meet' everyday at the adult pool and/or Rockin Bar D.....:rotfl: followed by 'one big nap.'

I kind of like the idea of one big booze meet ... that way no one is tied in to just one type of beverage and since it wouldn't be a private event people who want to attend but not drink booze wouldn't have to worry about paying out of pocket. Or, in the case of martinis, people wouldn't have to pay for something that they end up not enjoying.

Besides, Jay and I are far more likely to show up to one big booze fest than to a bunch of smaller ones. Selfish, I know, but I'm just saying that's how we are.

I'm jealous. WHat do you guys usually do at Yosemite? We've been there three times but just for a few hours. We usually drive around and get out and look, take pics, but not much else. What's the best to do?
