That is from my trip last April!

I had to change my profile pic because my friend that was in the one I had complained and so I came up with something better than her.....Princess Minnie on the Dream and me!

Ha!

We are about a half hour away from Port Huron :-)

I grew up on the West side of the State - between Kalamazoo & Grand Rapids. Been in TN for 20+ years. We have had summer vacation in the "pinky" (Traverse City) for the past few years - absolutely perfect!

you mean up north? on lake michigan?
that area is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

actually, michigan is a beautiful state (with one really dumpy city that sort of gives the whole state a bad name)..
it's one of the most beautiful states in the union in my opinion!!!

growing up, we used to go camping in the upper peninsula - in the dead of winter!! you can't imagine how magical a place it is!!

but it really doesn't matter the season or even where in michigan - it's all nice (mostly)...and the great lakes....nothing like them anywhere in the world...

when i was little, the slogan on license plates was "water wonderland"...then they changed it to "water winter wonderland"..
and both were very true..
and then some bozo changed it to "great lake state".....how boring...
i dont' know what it is now, as i never pay attention anymore, but i think it's still great lake state or great lakes...

i just looked it up..
"water wonderland" was introduced in 1954 (i was born in 1955)
"water winter wonderland" replaced water wonderland in 1965
"great lake state" replaced water winter wonderland in 1968
Not sure what it is now - the michigan govt document where i found the above, wasn't very clear about what's on plates now

see how easily i get distracted from DCL....anyway, michigan's a beautiful place though not many non-michiganders ever see it..

He's from Traverse City. Land of cherries and fudge. ;) I can't imagine camping in the UP. I get cold camping in Florida in November! Lol! I'm to Southern to handle that kind of cold!!

a high school friend lives in Traverse City (he lives there year round - he's a lawyer, but his true love is his band, East Bay Blue :) ) and an elementary school friend lives in the same general area, but more in the wilderness - the pictures she posts on facebook are amazing!!!

Does anyone know if there will be any Halloween type events during the cruise?

We're out of luck on that. :(

The two cruises following ours have special activities, but we don't.

I was wondering this too... I've read many complaints about how much they charge.

Good question....and something that I have not given much thought about. I have been paying $70 for the roundtrip Disney transport between WDW and the port. So I thought $75 to park the car for the 4 night cruise was not bad.

But I looked and found a near by location that charge $6 per day instead of $15. You can reserve online too. The website is parkcruise . com

Check it out!

is that the one that people posted that they waited for a very long time for the shuttle?

it's not worth it to me to save $40, but end up having to wait a long time for the shuttle.

I'm spending so much on the cruise, another $40 isn't going to be the difference....i'd rather have the convenience of walkig across the street..

Not sure if this is the one discussed elsewhere....have not seen those threads

But further looking, it appears there is more than one off port option for parking.

I have budgeted for the onsite so will go ahead with that to avoid the shuttle mayhem to and from.

i also can't risk it with my mom and sister - even if i drop them off at the terminal, i can't disappear for a long time....

so it's park in the structure and walk across....

Birdie23 - where are you? (and what are the ages of your children?). :)

We live in Texas. And don't think we're weirdos but we just prefer not to give out our children's names and ages.
