Is this realistic? We have a 10:20am ADR at 1900PF Breakfast on our departure day. We have never been able to get this breakfast and my daughter loves Alice in Wonderland. Our flight home is at 1:45pm and we will have a rental car to return. We do plan to get there early and try to be seated early, but I heard at 1900 that is virtually impossible. So, am I being realistic in thinking we have enough time?

Thanks!

The airport recommends that you be there 2 hours prior to your flight time.

If you follow that recommendation, you would have to be at the airport at 11:45.

I'd also keep in mind that GF has the worst self-parking lot on property. You might consider valet parking.

when are you going? I just ask because I have one that I think I am cancelling for 12/12 @ 10 am. If it worked for you let me know

Thanks so much for the offer, but we are going for Thanksgiving week! We leave in 5 days, but who is counting!!

After almost missing a flight once, we have gone back to being 2-hours-before people. Which means we'd want to be AT the airport at 11:45. Which means that breakfast at 10:20 wouldn't happen in our family, not worth the extreme un-fun of almost missing a flight!

Too close in my opinion. That meal will be nothing but stress. You would have to eat fast, not linger and run like mad men to get to the airport.

As important as it is that your daughter enjoy herself, it will add more stress than fun. JMO.

we do this Breafast just about every trip and it takes at least 1 1/2 hrs..so I would say no way you can do it. Keep checking..you may luck out and find an earlier ressie.

Have you considered booking your daughter into the Wonderland Tea Party instead? It happens on certain days of the week around 1:00 at the Grand Floridian (1900 PF to be exact) and it's an hour or an hour and a half with a small group of kids having a tea party at which Alice and the Mad Hatter come for a visit. They do a little craft, have a tea party (at which they get to eat their dessert first!), and they have a parade and play some games with Alice and the Mad Hatter. My 3 DDs (aged 10,8,5)did it last year and they loved it. I think it costs about $40 a kid, but it would give her a chance to see Alice and not make your last morning so stressful

Thanks everyone. I sort of figured as much.

So what time would everyone recommend I try to get a character breakfast reservation for? Beach Club has a 9:40 opening. I did want somewhere with an omelette/egg station though. I may just forego the characters and make a reservation at Boma. I heard their breakfast is awesome and would fill us up for our trip home.

If it helps, I am a frequent flier, so we can check in at the first class line and go through priority security, so we typically never get to the airport more than an hour and a half before our flight. My goal is to be there at 12:15pm.

Thanks!

I do not think there is any first class security priority at MCO. I don't have cause to use it but I have never seen anyone use such a thing.

Orlando recommends 2 hours for a reason.

I'd do a sit down breakfast that day only if: 1) you can get one really early or 2) it's in the resort where you are staying.

Sorry everyone, I did not mean to turn this thread into a transportation topic instead of a dining topic, but can you please tell me where you found this information? I went on MCO's website and it says to check your flight directly for check in times. So I just called Delta, and they said to check in 90 minutes before a domestic flight with checked bagage, and 60 minutes before with no checked baggage. So I am curious about the 2 hours.
Sorry again, I am just trying to extend every last minute of the magic! :flower3:

You can go by what your airline recommends. However, Orlando's security lines are not really predictable. I've been in the security lines anywhere from 10 minutes to 50 minutes. And check with your airline to see if you will have a quicker line for security because you are flying first class. I am not sure this is something that the Orlando airport itself provides. I remember being in line with a guy that was screaming that he shouldn't have to wait because he was the president of NBC. (I am not sure he really was the president of NBC.)

Disney's Magical Express picks up 3 hours prior to flights because Orlando's airport authority recommends an arrival time of 2 hours prior to the flight.

I'd say it is impossible. MCO security is usually a mess and I've never heard of anyone being seated for breakfast at 1900 anywhere close to their ADR.
