10/17/2010 Wonder Cruise

Hey everybody.

I'm not sure if everybody wanted this, but I definately needed to do something to make my FE journey easier. Especially since I've never been on a disney cruise before.

Anyhow, I took Tiggerish's idea of using deck plans to navigate my way around. I didn't use hers, but downloaded them from the Travelocity site. I modified each deck to show where the users cabins are. Along with the spreadsheet I sent to Lorna (who will send them out to you guys), I can cross check my spreadsheet with the deck drawing to figure out who is where (if that makes sense). I double checked and think I have everyones there. The only one I know I'm missiing is WhitneyDanielle who hasn't answered Lorna's PMs.

Edit: I'm not sure I needed to state this, but our cabins are in LIGHT GREEN (which is DIS boards official color)

Super job - I see many of us are going to be walking Deck 4 or 10 to see the out of doors. Lots of inside cabins.

I am so excited, I have been reading all the threads for years and have never even taken a crusie. October 17,2010 will be my first cruise. I will go with my mother and sister (3 adults).

I hope it is not to late to join you all on the meet-up and with gift-exchange. If it is to late I understand. We just made the reservations and will be given a room number early next week.

Looking forward to meeting you all on the cruise!!

Hi all,
I'm not on this sailing but I've been checking Hotwire so many times, waiting for the Hyatt to show on my date. (10/29/10)

If any of you have plans to stay at the Hyatt pre crusie, I can see it on Hotwire for $59 + tax.


Here's what to do:
Search for MCO instead of Orlando.
Be sure to enter 2 adults and 2 kids, even if you don't have any.
The Hyatt is the only 4* in MCO area that has a recommendation rate of 95%.
Also when you click on it, below the map it will list the Tripadvisor.com rating. The Hyatt is 4.5 out of 5, so 4.5 green circles.

Anything else that is not an exact match to the above bolded parts will get you the Renaissance. Double check carefully since it's non refundable. Don't just use the price as a match.

We have gotten the Hyatt on HW at least 5x now with this method. We'll be needing 6 rooms this time so we'll be saving a lot of $$$$.

You are definitely welcome to join us for the meet up on boarding day (3:00 PM in the Promenade Lounge). As for the FE gift exchange, I will need to touch base with the rest of the group. We will try to add you if we can!! I know many people have completed their gifts so I will leave it up to each individual family as to who can add you. If you are ok with this plan, why don't you plan of participating and get started on your gifts for the group (list is on post 50). Then, I will notify the group members and any of them that are able to include you will. It may not be 100% of the cabins on the list but we have a great group---I know they will all try!! Does that sound ok??

We are able to add the new addition to our FE gift list. It worked out easier for us since the group consisted of all adults. Whew! Not sure if I could have duplicated the kids gifts.

It took me quite a bit of time to get my head round the whole FE thing! You are probably right not to put more pressure on yourself as it does involve a fair bit of organising. It would be lovely to see you at the meet - my daughter Holly has just turned 7, it would be nice for her to meet a girl her age on the cruise. How exciting that she has a birthday on CC day

Just noticed this smilie, sums up my life at the moment getting ready for our trip lol

I'm sure my Laurie would love to meet someone her age on her first day! And being from Scotland will be an added bonus, as our hobby that's not Disney is doing Scottish history re-enactment... Less than a week to go!

We don't have costumes, but do have special outfits for pirate night.

I also feel like the list of things to do is a mile long. I know what I will be doing this weekend.

Just out of curiousity, is the Pirate night still going on even with all the Halloween themed things? We're trying to decide if we need to pack a separate Halloween costume in addition to Pirate garb (or if we just be pirates for the costume party!)
