I would absolutly LOVE to host a Cookie Party next year. What a GREAT idea!
By next Christmas my house will be built, furnished and broken in. LOL It was a chilly 38F this morning but warmed up into the 60's this afternoon. Not exactly beach weather, but you can go outside without mittens and hat. :earboy2: Rellingtwin will be here by then, so she can help too! But we have to get Bette and Kim to come down a few days early to help with the preparations since I have no clue what happens at Cookie Night, except that it involves cookies.
Since it is off season, room rates are very reasonable. And between me and Mary, we could put up several people. :grouphug:

Mini-meet this Spring: When I find out for sure the dates we will be in Washington DC I will post them. I'm thinking end of June, but nothing is set yet.
Maybe I Can get through 2005 without a cruise, as long as I have cruisers to party with!
What do you say Alikatt, are you up to a trip to NW FL next year?

Jenn, just 3rd row for Bruce. Hardly worth going to the show.

Stay warm all you non FL folk. :sunny: :sunny:
Later,
Avé

Is it warm in Germany?

Office building is slowly warming up but have to admit I'm becoming a wimp where cold is concerned. The temperature inside is now a balmy 65F.

Freezing Fiona

This morning we had -7°C/19°F, but as our little convertible is equipped with an additional remote controlled heater there was already a temp of about 18°C/64°F in it and all windows were free of ice. Our neighbors had to scrape off the ice.
Our office-building is heated to comfy 22°C generally, but we have additional heaters in each 4-person cubicle to adjust that to higher values. Additionally all new or relatively new building in Germany have about 4 inches aof additional insulation, double-paned windows, etc. It's all mandatory by our EPA-regulations.
Anja & I just got a €200 ($270) refund on our heating cost. We live on the top floor of our house, but our windows and the roof are so well insulated, that even now we only have our heaters running at 30%, in my puter-room I have it running at only 10% as the excess-heat of the screen and the puter are nearly sufficient to heat it due to the great insulation. Additionally comes the heat sipping through the floor from the neighbors under us :earboy2:

I found tons of 'message not delievered' notifications in my Yahoo.
Do I have to resend it to everybody?

We're home!! Finally!! I'll post more later, I've got to get to work (late). Our first flight at 11 was cancelled, then we were put on the 5:20, which was delayed until about 8:30. After driving from the airport, we got home at 11:30! We had such a great time at Cookie Night and everything else!! Kim and Bette, Bill has been lamenting about the sugar cookies since Saturday night!!

We got ours... Brrrrrrrrrr -2 WITHOUT any wind.

Bye, Kim

I got mine, thanks for adding us to the list!!!

It looks like those message in the cruisemail-account were wrong. The only cruiser who reported not having received The List was Nancy, whom I sent The List again via my AOL-account.

Thanks for all your feedback

Hey Guys,

I know we have lots of time before we have to make our shirts, but I found this site www.cheapestees.com that has the Hanes Beefy T-Shirts dirt cheap. I bought shirts from them when I made our Cruisetoberfest III shirts and they came out great. Anyway, I just ordered a bunch since I'm making shirts for our August Repo cruise. I also saved an extra 15% off their sale prices. With shipping and the discounts, I wound up spending about $43 for 10 shirts (3 shirts for Haley and 7 shirts for me and Lenny). If anyone wants to use them, use Coupon Code: BNNS04 at checkout.

Reneé

Hey Renee -

I found that website before Cruisetoberfest II to get the yellow t-shirts for the Key West Hunt (I think). Anyway, the t-shirts were great and the prices were awesome!!

Amy

Reneé, great site, Thanks!

Cool thing happened to me today. I read a book about 2 months ago who's main charater was named Avé. I e-mailed the author, Adriana Trigiani. I told her my name, and the "story" of how I got my name. She wrote back and asked for my snail mail address, which I sent. Well today I got a package from her, with 2 copies of her new book. It's a cook book called "Cooking with My Sisters." She sent one for me and one for twin sister Mary. And each has a personal inscription. How cool is that?

So is there ANYONE out there who would like to adopt a 7 year old boy? He is just a little hyper. But we would take him back after Christmas. Anyone? puckerup:

OK, Amy is coming to Cookie night 2005....anyone else? :D

Goodnight!

We're back and I'm semi-awake! We had an outstanding visit with Hygiene99. I won't repeat too much that Peter & Jenn and others have posted, but some bears repeating. We were excited about our plans for Friday night, because it was to be a surpise! Peter was covered though, if we guessed beforehand. He had more surprises up his sleeves. We had a seafood lunch at Legal Seafood which was yummy!! Then it was off to see Martina McBride! We were seated in the front row! Just off to the left. When Martina came out, she was singing right in front of us!! That wasn't the best part though. She walked right in front of us at one point. Then after the intermission, one of the backup singers/actors came out to the audience and asked people to come up and sing Christmas Carols with Martina! They picked me! It probably helped that Bill and Peter were pointing my way!! We sang 3 songs and danced. It was so much fun! Too bad we didn't have a camera. The security guard said he would have looked the other way. Saturday we drove up to NH for Cookie Night. What fun!! We saw Mary Jo, Sam and Sarah, Fiona and Jim, Rich and Rosemary and Marsha. Kim, you did any outstanding job of organizing such an event! If you need help with the IQ tests next year, let me know!! We all went to dinner and had birthday cake for Mary Jo, Kim, Fiona, Sam and Arlene (who was not able to make it -- get well soon Andy!). Peter claimed it was his birthday though and filled in for Arlene.
Sunday I was able to finish some shopping and then we went up to Rockport, MA. What a cute town! We stopped to get lobsters, bacon wrapped scallops, steamers, stuffed clams and a crab roll. Peter pulled out shrimp for shrimp cocktail too! It was all soooo good!! I don't think I've ever had so much seafood and all sooo yummy!!!
Monday our flight was cancelled, but we got on the next flight, which was then delayed due to weather for 3 hours! We finally got home at 11:30.
Peter and Jenn made this a wonderful weekend! We had such a great time. Hopefully they will come to Wisconsin and we can show them what fun we can have in the Midwest.

Bill is still having visions of the sugar cookies. He insists that Kim said one and not one of each LOL!! I'll work on his numbers and counting before next Cookie Night!!

Marianne if you plan a Midwest DIS meet, we'll be there! We're just outside of Madison, so not too far away.

Tracy

Am so glad that you had a great time Tracy (and Bill). My secretary asked me if it was worth the drive just for the weekend and I said YES. It was a wonderful break.

I must say though that Jim has not been sharing the cookies but has been sampling his way through the cookies and the candies. I can say though that I was allowed a piece of the peanut brittle and it was excellent.

Finally got a tree tonight but it's a fake -- all real trees already had homes it appears. Not even a Charlie Brown tree left. Ah well. It was 30% off plus another 15% off so it can't be that bad.

My Dad was in town tonight on his way to Barbados with his girlfriend so we all went out and had dinner. Dinner was a 2 hour experience. We got to the restaurant at 6:00pm had our orders taken at 6:30pm and got our food at 7:45pm. Jenn (my Dad's gf) told him not to leave a tip. We didn't have dessert. That would have taken the rest of the night and my Dad and gf have to catch the shuttle to the airport at 5:15am!

Renee-- Haley can come to dinner anytime. My 2 yr old nephew sat for approximately 5 minutes and then was running around everything -- this would have been ok but then he started climbing onto all the tables. Luckily the restaurant was empty.

Hopefully only 2 more work days and then I'm off til January.

Fiona

OK...going to try again. I have posted 2X and my posts don't show up!!!

Eric, I did not get a list.

Ave...I would love to co-host a "cookie night" next Christmas!

In preperation for our move to Florida, I contacted a real estate agent and will be talking with her tomorrow. While at the vet today (kitty needed her last shot) our vet asked about our house and expressed an intrest. He would like us to let him know the price before we put it on the market! It seems he has been wanting a house in our area, but they don't come on the market too often, and when they do,they sell very fast. This is good news for us because we have a friend in Florida who is selling her house! We will be looking at it next week when we visit Ave.It would be so cool if we were able to sell our current house, and buy one in Florida without having all the stress of "open house" and looking at a million houses in Fl.

I am so glad Cookie Night went so well for everyone. I was wishing I was there with you all!

Fiona...nothing like waiting until the last min. to get a tree!

Reneé...I have also used that website. Love the shirts and the prices!
I sure hope this post shows up!
