Glad everyone had a great time at Cookie night. It does sound like so much fun. Hopefully once of these years when I'm invited again that we can make it.

Andy--- Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Take care and hope that you are better for the holiday.

Rosemary--- So is the NY meet for all of us Northeasterns? Will it be in a WalMart?

Eric--- I never received the lastest list. Congratulations on having your shopping finished. Norm completed his last weekend. Some of the stores had senior citzen specials and if you were over 55 you got the discount so he went to get the discount. When we were watching the amazing race last week some of it was filmed in Germany, I don't think we mentioned that in our discussion. Eric, I have no idea what you are talking about when you mention all that computer stuff.

Renee--- So now you each have a computer, so it saves arguing over who wants on it. I would be happy with that. Norm and I still share the computer.

Peter--- What a nice surprise for Bill and Tracy. How lucky for Tracy to be picked. Even if you had your camera would you have been allowed to take a picture. Alot of the concerts have a no camera or video taping policy.

Fortierv--- Did I miss where you posted that you won the dirt bike?

I am nearly ready for the holiday. Gifts are bought and wrapped, house decorated, groceries stocked, will just need to clean the house and then should be ready. Since I don't bake cookies, I bought them at Sam's Club and put them in a holiday container. Actually they are better than what I would make.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hey everyone! We had a wonderful time at the Magic Kingdom yesterday. The weather here in central FL was very comfortable, but I still ended up with a little bit of sun on my cheeks. My neices had a great time and can't wait to go again sometime soon.

We had a little mini Christmas here today at our house since my sister and her family are leaving to go back to Virginia on Wednesday. The 3 oldest girls got dress-up costumes that my mom made of Ariel, Aurora & Snow White. They were too adorable. And, she also made them each matching costumes for their American Girl-type dolls. Emily is still running around in her Snow White dress, and she has no intentions of taking it off any time soon.

Well, I'm off again. Need to clean up the kitchen from dinner. We had a Honey-Baked Ham and it was so tasty!! I don't want any of that to spoil, because we have lots of leftovers.

Take care everyone and I'm glad to hear that everyone had fun at "Cookie Night".

Amy

Well Cookie Night sounds like it was a hit. How great that all of these people can get together! The internet is a wonderful tool. But the people make it what it is!
What a great treat for Bill and Tracy. Hey Peter, if I come to visit could you swing a few front row seats to see Bruce Springsteen? :rockband: :rockband: :rockband:

Almost done with my Christmas shopping. Still have to get ready for Christmas dinner at my house. I am working Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas, so I have to get everything ready in the next few days! :bitelip:

Rellingtwin and I will be in Washington DC this summer, maybe we could do a mini-meet then?

Jeanneg, got you card, are those all your kids? What a great looking bunch!

got to run

Sorry, I posted while logged in as Heidi. So I copied the post below, but now I can't find how Heidi can delete the post.

Oh well. Shows I haven't been here in a while! :earboy2:

Hey everyone! I'm back. Sorry I haven't posted, but I have been busy. And I really hate missing, even a few days. Seems like I end up missing pages & pages of posts. I'll try to be on board more often (even if it's just lurking).

We're trying to get ready for the holidays. I wasn't sure that I was going to look forward to these holidays, then a dear friend from SC decided she wanted to come up & see me, and that just boosted my mood! I am so excited now! She'll be here Thursday nite until Monday or Tuesday.

My choir sang our Christmas Cantata this morning. It was a hit. The director gets so bent out of shape every year because she never thinks we're ready, and then we pull it off perfectly! I don't know when she's going to learn to calm down.

The kids are doing okay. We still have our moments--mostly with homework & house chores. Not sure how much I can blame on our situation & how much is just their being 10 & 13 years old. (Actually, isn't EVERYTHING Tom's fault? :earboy2: )

Reneé, Lenny & Haley--got your Christmas card--thank you very much. That Haley is soooo cute! Couldn't you just eat her up? I wish I was organized enough to get cards out. I'm lucky if I'll be ready for Christmas by Saturday. Heidi wanted to use our cruise formal picture for the card--which would have been beautiful! Oh well, maybe next year!

I loved reading about Cookie Night, but I missed the beginning posts. Did you meet in Long Island (is that ON Long Island?)? Maybe we could get a meet together here in the Chicagoland area. Anyone else in the mid-west interested?

Happy birthday to twins Avé & Mary!! I'm sorry I missed it. I hope you each had a great day! My kids "took me out" to dinner for mine (it was the 13th). I visited with a couple of friends. Had lots & lots of cake! It was a really nice birthday. I'm so glad to see 40 leave & looking forward to 41!!!

Other than that, I'm just working most of the time. I've managed to get out with friends & meet new people. (Sshhhh! Don't tell! I'm not supposed to have a life!) And looking forward to the cruise in 2006! It seems SOOO far away.

Well, everyone. I hope you all have a blessed & happy holiday. Stay healthy.

Love, Marianne

   No, you didn't miss it. The eighth person to draw a key won. I was number 35 so I never got a chance. It's OK though, our party went wonderfully Saturday night. I was able to drown my sorrows :drinking1 in good company. Funny, it seemed like everyone had sorrows to drown :drinking1 or just cheer to spread I guess. I only broke one dish cleaning up :cool1: unfortunatelly it was a nice serving dish we got as a wedding present 15 years ago :guilty: . I think I've been forgiven and I guess Debbie will have another present under the tree.

I second that about getting tickets in the front row for Springsteen! The closest I've ever gotten was 8th row field seats. I don't even want to talk about the farthest seats.

A NY meet would definitely include all Northeasterners and anyone else willing to travel to NYC (or where ever we decide to hold it). Another WalMart meet could be fun but I think people may want to meet someplace else. LOL!

Washington D.C. would be cool. Actually, in the summer it would end up being quite hot -- hot and humid....but cool just the same. Didn't some Cruisetoberfest III's do this last year? Rich and I would be game.

Zapp - Cookie night was at Bette and Kim's house in New Hampshire, not Long Island. (BTW - I always say ON Long Island as opposed to IN Long Island). You should definitely try for a midwest meet sometime before the cruise. Bet you get takers.

fortierv - Better luck on the next raffle drawing. Too bad also about your broken wedding present. Glad you have been forgiven.

Rich and I finally got to watch Shrek 2 tonight. We bought DVD at the Pennsylvania Walmart where we had our mini-meet. What a funny movie!!

Back to work tomorrow. Can't believe Christmas is less than a week away....

Hi!
Ave... Pete could only get us as close as 3rd row to see Bruce at Gillette Stadium this year. If he comes back I will tell him to try harder!
We are having a great time with Tracy and Bill... took them to Rockport today, its a little town north of here. We shopped and had fun! Stopped on the way home and picked up a lobster feed... very yummy, lobster, steamers, scallops in bacon, wow! Tomorrow they have to head to the airport, but we are getting snow, maybe they will be delayed another day! Hope everyone got home safely from Cookie Night, we had such fun! Pete and I would definitley be up for a meet in NY... that would be great!! Goodnight!

Nancy,
I'll check why you didn't get The List. I'll get back to you soon. Perhaps your credit-card data is no longer valid and so I couldn't bill it :earboy2:

Marianne,
I just had to think about you: Our local radiostation broadcast a list of cities with snow on Christmas Eve. Chicago was on that list, with temps of -23°C which even comes to a negative value in Fahrenheit :earseek:

Eric--
That is not unusual for this time of year. We had snow on Thanksgiving Eve, and the funny thing is, I travelled to Green Bay, which is 3 hours north of here, and they had NOTHING! Yesterday morning, my waking temp was 2 deg F (-16 deg C). I don't care what anyone says, THAT'S COLD!!!! :earseek:

Just popping in over here to thank Bette and Kim for their hospitality on Saturday. I really enjoyed meeting all the people doing this cruise, doing the repo cruises, and everyone else. And Gulliver is a rather large dog! I have to agree with Tulirose, he is the largest dog I have ever seen in person weightwise. He was such a sweetheart.

I am trying to convince my DH that we should join all of you on this sailing, but he is having none of it. I may book it solo in August.

Happy Holidays to all.

Finally made it home from Cookie Night this morning. When we left it was wonderful weather but just north of Burlington blowing snow started. It was a slow drive home from there but we did make it. It's really cold here though -- the wind chill factor is -36. Add to this the fact that the furnace isn't working -- house was a balmy 51F this morning. They are coming to look at it sometime between 8pm and midnight tonight. Might go out and do shopping tonight to stay warm. Got to work and the heat's not working that great here either -- the boardroom is a balmy 58F and the offices are in the low 60's.

Winter has arrived.

Had a great time seeing everyone though and can't wait til next year.

We are up for a meet pretty much anywhere, just let us know when and where.

Back to work before I freeze to death. :)

About two weeks ago it snowed very heavy. In Reno the snow usually melts in a few days, but the temperature stayed below 20 for the whole week. In the mornings it even got to 2 a few days.

OK,
let's meet in Germany :earboy2: Fare on you, cookies on us pirate:

Is it warm in Germany?

Office building is slowly warming up but have to admit I'm becoming a wimp where cold is concerned. The temperature inside is now a balmy 65F.

Hi Guys,

Kim here...

Glad to hear that most of our guests have returned home. We wish we could have arranged for better weather conditions.

I hope you all had a good time and enjoy your treats. We wish that we could have had a longer visit, but a meet in the spring would be great. I am always up for NYC...

It is -9 degrees here with the wind chill. Without wind chill it is -2 <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm813' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_3_1.gif' border=0></a>... Guess we do not have too much wind. Ave, can you build an extra large kitchen and family room ??? We could move cookie night <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm813' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_16_12.gif' border=0></a> to Florida.

Gulliver introduced himself to most of you he is a beast but as loveable as they come... Fiona & Jim keep warm <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm813' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_2_40.gif' border=0></a>, you can always come back. Mary Jo, SOOOOOO sorry for your lousy travel weather Sunday <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm813' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_4_6.gif' border=0></a>.

Back to work,

P.S. When Bill & Tracy post, ask Bill about the sugar cookies..
