10/12/08-4 night Wonder anniversary cruise

Hi Michelle, I have to agree with you on Nassau...we might just stay on board the Wonder this trip. The last time we were there, we put into port with four other cruise ships and two US navy ships, it was wall to wall people in town.
We may take a taxi to Atlantis to do some gambling but that would be about it.

And I must agree about hating "Winter", I can't wait for Spring and Summer to arrive.

Can you go to Atlantis and just explore? Is there shopping there? What's the best way to get there? We are just not sure what to do when we get to Nassau.

We have our reservations at Radisson for the 2 nights before and offsite at WDW for 3 nights after the cruise We also are waiting to buy MNSSHP tickets but will go if the weather cooperates. We loved it when we went 2 years ago.

John has started to collect pieces for his pirate costume, I really need to start thinking about it.

We also need to start thinking about ADR's for WDW since we are getting closer to 180 mark for reservation. Can you believe how fast the time is flying.

Shannon -

I updated your cruise information as requested on our trip page.

If anyone has updates or wants to add their picture to the who we are page so we recognize each other just send them my way.

Good Morning! It is going to be another nice day here in SC. 35 weeks from today we will be waking up in Port Canaveral ready to cruise!! We are going to drive down the day before and spend the nite at the hotel.

We still have all of our group going and we are all excited!!!!!

I think all of us are going to go over to Atlantis. Me & DW have been before , but it has been awhile. I can't remember if there is shopping or not. And I think you have to pay to take the tour now & just to get in. But please do not quote me on that.

Hello fellow cruises and welcome aboard the Wonder Anniversary Cruise.
Is anyone else booked for this cruise? My wife and I, and a bunch of fellow cruise and Disney nuts will be celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary for a special couple, so how do you celebrate such an event but with Disney!!!!!

This will be DW and I's second Disney cruise the first will be 12/6/07 which as of today we haven't even taken yet, we can't wait for either one to start.

So come aboard and join the thread.
Bob

Hello Cathy, and welcome aboard.....WOW three weeks in Florida now that is a nice long vacation.....will you be visiting Disney World while you are there?
Have you taken a Disney cruise before or any cruise?

Hello shipmates, how is everyone doing?
Winter blues are starting to kick in around here so I need some Disney talk to help me get through this.

Here’s a question for you pass Disney cruisers; what is the first thing you do or place you go to after boarding the ship?

My wife and I head to the Topsider Buffet for lunch and than stroll the ship taking pictures while waiting for our cabin to be finished.
Disney sure does put on a nice Buffet, lots to choose from that’s for sure. We sit out on the aft deck with our lunch and soaked up the warm Florida sun.

Is anyone having a pre- cruise stay at Disney World? We arrive on Oct. 7 and are staying at the Beach Club, first time we will stay there can’t wait…….OK I can’t wait for this trip period!!!!!

Anyone interested in meeting up for a drink or just to say hello before the sail away party?

My wife and I met up with a few Dis’s back in December in the Promenade Lounge for a drink, we met folks from all over the US and had a blast.

Take care everyone
Bob

Hi Alohabob,

We are staying at the Carribbean Beach resort for 3 nights before the cruise. I actually excited because we are going to do the Family Magic Tour while we are at Disney. I have always just gone to Disney with no plan, but I wanted to do something different this time. Hopefully it will keep my 8 year old entertained.

This vacation can't come soon enough, that is for sure!

Hi Cathy, I'm sorry to say that you will get hooked on cruising especially Disney cruises, what a treat you are in for.:yay:
I see you like to visit in December, that is one of the best times to visit the parks......so much going on at that time........and the decorations are a must see for my wife and I each time we go in December.

Hi Kim, maybe we all can have a gathering before the cruise in one of the parks just to has hello and put faces with names here on the boards?

Here is the info I got about the tour... wanted to do something different while we were there!

We are planning on getting reservations at the Liberty Tree Tavern at MK the first day we are there, for Dinner.. we will be there on Oct 9th! Its my moms favorite restaurant!

Hello everyone, have you all abandoned ship? where is everyone.....I thought for sure everyone would be going crazy by now wanting to be somewhere nice and warm.......like on a cruise ship! oh well.

I'm just over a month away from making my ADR's for WDW can't wait. I better start looking at pricing our flights, I'm sure the prices will continue to climb with oil being so high. I just payed $3.22 a gallon here in central Connecticut what are you all paying for gas?

Trying NOT to think of the cruise just now, its snowing here....brrrr!!! Bob, come to the UK, its around 10/15 dollars a gallon here!

We had a fabulous weekend...:goodvibes 78 and sunny and now the bottom is dropping out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:  Rain and dropping temps...Mix of sleet and snow this evening-changing too all snow tonight...Up to 8 inches by tomorrow...The biggest storm of the season for us!! I am sick of it!!!!!!!!! Yesterday was just torcher......:sad2:

We are paying $2.89 gallon in STL...

I have been thinking about the cruise and am ready to make ADR next month. I think we are headed back Ohana this year since they added the shrimp skewers...:thumbsup2 We plan to spend Friday at Sea World and if we get there at opening we should be done by 6pm. So I will make an ADR for Ohana for around 8pm. We can sleep in on Saturday...:goodvibes

Thursday we plan to do MNSSHP...I was thinking of making an ADR for the Plaza restaurant around 4:30??? What do you guys think?? I am just not sure that I want too lose park time?? We could just eat at the resort before we head to the party.

Well you all have a nice day!!!

Michelle

Wow:eek: that is a lot......where in the UK do you live?

Glasgow, Bob. Had a talk with DH, your US gallon is smaller than the UK gallon, still our gas/petrol price works out at roughly $9/gallon :scared1:

When we first visited Florida, it cost around $25 to fill the tank;)

I'm going to have to make everyone sit down one night this week to work out ADR's. I do know that we hope to go to Raglan Road on October 8 for my wedding anniversary!

Nobody for 2 weeks now everyone is posting like crazy!!!

It's been really nice this weekend. Mid 60's & sunny in SC. Gas is $3.04 here.

Have a couple of ?'s for you DCL verterans.
Called DCL this weekend about table sizes. We will have 11-12 peeps in our group & they say the biggest table they have is a 8, but i have read on other threads they have done 16. What gives? What do I have to do to get a 12?
Next, We are planning a cruise for either May or Oct. of '09. We will not do Carnival again just because we like RCI better. But I have heard so many great things about DCL that we are doing this cruise. So we may want to do DCL again or RCI. I have read on other threads that DCL gives a 10% discount & a $200 shipboard credit when you book a new cruise while onboard. But when I asked about booking before this cruise then going to the agent onboard & asking for the credits, they said they would not give the discount for the next cruise. Why? I also read on other threads that they do give them in that situation. Why 2 different stories? Please help clarify.:confused3

Hi Cathy, $9.00 :scared1: WOW......I guess you'll be happy to be in Florida!
But by the time we are all in Florida in Oct. it will be more like $4.00/gallon.

My wife and I have not been to Raglan's yet how is it? maybe this trip we'll have to give it a whirl.

Hello Steelernut, when we went this past Dec. I remember seeing a few large party tables set up, but I think they were separated into groups of eight, they were very close to one another just enough room for CM's to get through. I'm sure once you are on board they will accommodate you, the more I think of it I remember seeing a few very large round tables in the dinning rooms with at least 12 persons around it.

As far as ship board discounts and credits, I think this will only take place if you book while onboard ship. I know NCL gives nice discounts if you book another cruise while onboard ship. If you're looking to book another cruise with DCL wait till you're on the ship and have the dates you really want and have a backup date in case they do not have the cabin you are looking for.
I hope that makes sense.

Raglan's is great! Never been disappointed with the food there. They have dancers and music there sometimes too. Its not quite as good as the pubs in Ireland, but still a good night.

Steelernut, any room for a lodger in SC? Its barely reaching 39F here!

I wonder if the onboard credits for rebooking a cruise apply if you use DVC points? Anyone know?
