That wasn't good! Do you need her direct number? Just called (2:30pm eastern) and will let you know if I get a response if you could do the same. Otherwise, from all the posts I've read, we're going to have slim pickin's come 6 weeks out! Of to work now, 2 days until some time off!:love2:

I was just going to ask the same question about the REAS package. I just called DCL and was told someone would call me 4-6 weeks prior. I thought I read that some people from October cruises had already called and set everything up with Debbie @ DCL.

I called her and got her directly at 407-566-7411.....all our ressies are set to go. Palo Friday nite, and I forget when we do our massages and Brunch, but we also got to pick our rotation. I am being a bit obessive, but I wanted to make sure we were in PC for tropical nite. She was SOOOO nice.

We also ordered the REAS but I was under the impression you could call and start to reserve things 60 days prior.
I enjoyed looking at the photos on that other link, but was not familiar with that Quiet Cove place.....is it something new? Does anybody know anything about it? I remember the old reading/game room, but this looked much larger.

oops...some new posts must have come in while I was typing the previous one. I have a little problem in that i don't want to choose a rotation because my dining is tied to other couples on this board and want that to be the overriding factor. Also, I'd like to know the schedule before I choose my Palo evening. Were they able to tell you what night is formal, tropical etc? I know we sometimes ASSume, but the last time I cruised, formal and semi-formal were switched from what everyone expected.

What's REAS:confused:

We just returned from our 3.5mile-run: Anja finished in 30:30, I did 27:32. This means that Anja averaged considerably less than 9 minutes per mile, and I was slightly under 8 minutes per mile :Pinkbounc :bounce: There were 49,300 people running with us:earseek: we needed 19 minutes alone to get from our start-position to the start-line, but could start running from there on immediately. We had to pass thousands of people enroute, zigzaggin' through the crowds, but it was fun. After passing the finish line we used our cell-phones to find each other and then went to join our group, have some water and some bananas.
Now all we want is a shower and our bed ::yes:: But we have to have a large candybar before that :cake:

Good news for everyone sending pictures or other attachments:
Yahoo has boosted the storage capacity for free accounts to 100MB, and for single mail attacments to 10MB. Now you can send all your stuff to the yahoo-account!!

Eric I may take up running if you get to get chocolate afterwards. :jester:

This day is never, ever going to end. A bomb has hit my desk and spread files near and far (although obviously not far enough)!:p

Back to work. Is it Friday yet???

Btw June is the busiest month for real estate and June 30th is the busiest day of the year. Always. Not sure if this is the same in the U.S. but it is here.

Hi Guys,

Just checking in, I am taking a few minutes break from working on the house.

The move date is now set for July 10th to move to our new lab. Of course the lab is not even built yet... Oh well we will see how well the builder does under pressure.

Of course after the fire <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_4_51.gif' border=0></a> I had this Am in my chemical hood perhaps a new lab is not such a good idea. The Fire Department was great, <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_18.gif' border=0></a> no damage just a lot of smoke to vent out of the building

We are looking forward to seeing a bunch of you over July 4th, a fun mini meet....

Ave, I am sending you a short PM ...

Have to run,

Bye, Kim

Peter: Thank you sooo much, I so needed to laugh and that was simply too funny! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Renee: Would you mind PM'ing me the detail on the Antigua excursion you have planned?

Granny Update: She is out of ICU and holding her own. They removed the cath today and hopefully will be able to remove the feeding tube soon. She was awake and alert. Thank you all for your prayers.

I have just been going off Barb's most recent navigators from the Eastern to see what the themed nites will be. Regardless, we wanted Palo for our last night. Although, after I made the ressies with Debbie, I was thinking we'll be rushing to pack that night and won't be able to enjoy our "romantic turndown service", but I guess packing may have to wait! I would call her soon....I had been reading the posts about people who are going on cruises in Dec calling already, so I figured it would be worth the shot. She also made our High Tea ressies, too.

Thank god today is my Friday from work. The hot tub and a glass of wine is calling my name. Still in the 90's....will our vacation ever come? By the way, Harry Potter fans....one of my co-workers neices sent this to her. Designed for a 10 year old, I am sure, yet I couldn't stop playing it!

Eric - REAS is the romantic escape at sea. It's a package that lets your make reservations for Palo and spa before getting to the ship. Plus a few extras.

Jill - hope Debbie is as nice as everyone says. I had to leave a voicemail, so will give her a few days then call back. I just want to get everything done on one of our at sea days so I don't have to rush. We were thinking of Palo's for the last day (our actual anniv. day) but didn't want to be in a hurry to leave CC. Last time there we were whipped!

Well, it is technically my working day Friday!:teleport: We are supposed to be taking it easy, but we have to - Landscape the front yard, paint the basement, rewire an elecrical box, buy a new disposal, and I'm holding out for a new ceiling fan being installed! Too much do you think? Chris looks stressed already! :crazy2: :faint:

I called Debbie at her direct number this morning and she answered. She was very nice and made the ressies I wanted. Don't call the 800 number, won't get you anywhere. Debbie said she's going on vacation next week, so hopefully fridayfun you'll get a call back today.

:cool1:
Wow! Was she for real?

twhipple - Thanks so much for the info. I decided to call again, early and surprise! Debbie answered and has to be, without a doubt the nicest person I have EVER talked to on the phone! Got all the ressies made, she asked if we wanted to switch to late seating since 90% of adults w/no kids eat late. I told her last cruise we ate late and never saw another part of the ship as we ended up going straight to bed! We are determined to see the clubs this time!

jeanneg - Debbie did not ask about rotation because we are tied to the early seating DIS table. I took my chances on the Palo, and the only reason we would change on the ship is if the formal night gets moved to our Palo night. Can't waste my new dress! And apparently the Quiet Cove is the old teen place, changed to a library, coffe area for adults and the kids are in the stack. No more ESPN bar! Chris was devastated! No big beers! Well, lot's of errands before i go to work. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, ours starts tomorrow...:thewave:

OMG, WHAT HAVE I DONE!!! I just got off the phone with Debbie (and yes she is very nice) but she convinced me to take the full-body massage and now I'm SCARED. I am shy....never did that before.....and I never GET NAKED in front of strangers!!!!! Somebody please tell me it's going to be OK......will I be lying down already when "they" come in or do I have to somehow take off the robe and get on the table discreetly....I have these visions of a Chevy Chase movie in my head......what have I done. My bra looks like a Sherman tank.....what's gonna happen without it......
They say you have to try something new every year so this will be my "adventure" this time.....I am going to die....probably should take a valium....or a stiff drink......LOTS of schnaps. Please tell me it's gonna be OK.....any "older people" do this?

Jeanne,

You are going to LOVE it !!! There is noyhing so relaxing...Remember...this old body is a LOT older,so...go for it ....

Bette

jeanneag,
I am also VERY shy. My husband got me a half day at a spa a few years ago. The person doing the massage was a guy and I thought it would be weird and freaky. You get undressed and on the table and cover with a monster sheet. They knock before coming in too see if you are ready. It was very professional and they don't expose more than your legs (not too high up!), shoulders arms and back (laying face down of course!) I have only done the one but can't see Disney offering anything WEIRD, so I think it will be a great, RELAXING day!

I can echo that about the spa. My mother got me a gift certificate a few years back and that's exactly how it was. I actually kept my panties on during the massage. It was pretty nice. I also had a facial which I think I fell asleep during and then a manicure and a pedicure. It was interesting but not something I'd repeat I'm afraid. One of the few people probably who didn't enjoy the spa experience but then I don't like people picking at my hands and feet. The massage part was probably the best part of the day though.

You will have a good time during the massage but don't plan anything strenuous afterwards because you'll probably feel like going to sleep!

It's raining here today although it's supposed to clear up later.
