That's ok Kim because I don't really like manicures. Two Christmas' ago my mother gave me a spa day as a gift. Once was enough. The pedicure actually hurt and I'm not really into anyone fussing with my hands or feet. Also got a massage which was ok but not wonderful. I actually fell asleep during the facial -- the lunch was a bird lunch too. Very swanky spa here in Toronto and everyone else had fun but it just isn't my thing. I found the day tedious rather than relaxing and had the nail polish on my fingers picked off within days! Can you guess that our spa bill on the cruise is $0?

Oh, but Fiona you REALLY should try the Surial Bath on the ship. Me and Lenny did that when we went on the Wonder (before Haley) and had a blast. You can do a lot of things with that mud!;)

Geeze. What's all this about power tools? I seem to be mis-understood again. Nobody but me seems to appreciate the Fine Art of Power Tool Selection.

And 'buzzing' usually indicates that whatever motor is being used is a goner. Wait'll that happens on your laptop, and you'll appreciate the difference between 'whirring' and 'buzzing', especially if there is a the fine scent of burning stuff in the air.

Oh, well. Time for the Afternoon Nap. I'm getting in shape for those days at sea early this year.

Jim.

Peter went to Flordia ? Really ? When ? Did Jenn go too ??:teeth:

Renee -- Actually tried to talk Jim into it for the last cruise but he wasn't in any way interested -- now if it was power tools rather than mud it might agree to it!! Have nine months to bribe him for this cruise.

Whirring, purring, who cares. Now if the person holding the power tools looked like Ty of Trading Spaces I might be more interested!

OOPS !!!!!! There went your mud fun......

Boy, everyone is very talkative today. Guess not very busy. Wish everyday was like this!

Fiona...you mean that Jim doesn't look like Ty of Trading Spaces??

And what is this...Jim..you're going to take a nap this afternoon (I am convinced now that you are a secret government worker!!) while the rest of us are hard at work???

Nope. Ty has no facial hair!!

Did I say that Jim now has mickey ears again on his chest? Had to go for tests again yesterday and there they were afterwards!

Busy?! Never too busy for Disney!!

Jim "naps" most days -- he's getting older you know! He is practicing for the cruise though as I think he napped just about every afternoon on the cruise.

Fiona

I think everyone should head to New Hampshire for the week-end

We can do a pot of homemade soup, make some bread,a pan of lasagna.....and....bake some cookies......

What's better than good friends/food ????:teeth:
Bette

That's a great idea. I can't think of a better thing to do. Unfortunately, NH is quite a ways from NJ. Maybe if we had more notice.......;) Besides, it's snowing up there but not here. We only have cold weather (30 degrees), just not as cold as you guys.

:earseek:  :earseek:  :earseek:  :earseek:

Wow did this thread wake up this afternoon! Guess everyone dedided the heck with what needs to be done ... I'm going to be on the DIS. That's the way I like to see us.

Hey where did Peter go? Was he keeping it a secret or what.

Jim, Peter and the rest of the guys ... Big Boys mean expensive Big Toys. I know mine is like a kid in a candy store when he sees power tools. The neighbor asked to borros a router and he almost fainted and said come pick ou the one you want, Art has at least 4 of them! Sad part is that sometimes we have to buy at least 2 of a neat thing cause we don't share well. I have to have my own stuff.

Kim .. The siding party sounds fun .... we could all sworm down on your house like one of those TV shows. I'm sure it would make for a intersting TV show ... maybe more a comedy though!

Maybe we should make up a listing of what type handywork everyone can do and then we can farm outselves out ... you know, will work for CRUISE.

What's this about stripping? Be careful what you wish for :jester:

Guess I should stack these piles of work on my desk so the cleaning guy doesn't get hurt under the avalanche.

Have a nice night ... Cathy

Aw, come on Renee...where is your sense of adventure...it's only about a 7.5 hour drive for you guys from Jersey (for us it is 5.5 hours however, for cookie night, we left PA at 9:30 a.m. and arrived in NH at 7:30 p.m. at night--traffic and more traffic plus it was the last weekend before Christmas)

OK Kim...homemade soup (chicken noodle is my favorite); rolls or bread, homemade cookies (especially shortbread or spritz) PLUS if you threw in a trip to Yankee Candle and lunch at the tavern in Northhampton, MA, you will have a deal.....Sarah and I will be leaving after work on Friday!!! LOL!!

Looks like Peter is MIA---oh, I forgot, he is on his way to Florida!!

I actually better get off of the Dis Boards or I will be joining Kim's club.

You know if we all get together to do the house thing, we can't guarantee what it will look like after we're done. Especially if there's alcohol involved! We can something like that show "While You Were Out" and just hope for the best. I think that sounds like fun.

BTW - Lenny just said NH isn't that far from NJ, but I'm not buying that. It's not the distance that I'm worried about--it's all that snow!

Wish NH was closer for us! homemade soup etc. sounds great right about now -- getting close to supper time.

I like "While you were out" and "Trading Spaces" although right now I'm into "Clean Sweep" -- makes me feel like we have the neatest house on the block!

Am just about to pile up the files on my desk and make it look neat so I can leave. :D

Fiona

:bounce: I want to see Peter Strip!:bounce:

Wow, everyone was chatting away this afternoon while I was busy working.

Where did you say that Peter was going?

Bette and Kim--- I'll take cheddar potato soup please. Plus can you make me some Gingerbread men cookies even though it is past the holidays.

Went to Red Lobster for dinner. So tomorrow starts the diet. Have 15 minutes to pig out before Friday.

Only 1 more work day till the weekend. I miss those 4 day weeks I had the past 2 weeks.

Congrats on finding the cat, Ave!

I would like to tie the dinner seatings together some time this month and so I need to hear from the N's, the A's and the SM's (sounds kinda kinky.....!) with reservation numbers. It would also be a big help if you could all let me know the last name the booking is under (you can pm me or use my personal email). I did some coordinating for a group of us on the last cruise I took and didn't realize until I made the call that the cast member would not be very receptive to screen names! If anyone else is joining us, please let me know soon.

So what time is the party at the Radisson? I took a look at the October flight schedules and it seems we probably won't be getting into Orlando until about 8pm which means we'll undoubtedly miss all the action. I was looking over Eric's list and it appears that bettemom and I are the only ones that plan to stay at the Hyatt MCO. I guess I need to pm her and discuss options.

This is my busy, busy time at work.......setting up payroll for the new year and closing out the old one. Lots of adjustments and reconciliations for tax purposes......and then when all that is done I have to go prepare the personal stuff for tax filing. Yuck! Is there income tax in deutschland, Eric? And if so, is is a straight percentage or do you have to deal with the reams and reams of tax law that we have here?
Jeanne,
Germany has the most complex and most stupid   tax laws in the world: More than 63% of all tax literature available WORLDWIDE is written in German :( with us Germans representing only about 1.3% of the world's population. German is only spoken in Germany, Austria & a part of Switzerland. It is also a major issue over here to simplify our tax laws. The income tax is between 15% and 45% right now. Sales Tax is 16%, respectively 8% for food and literature (Magazine, newspapers, books).
