Peter & Jenn,

Just sent you a PM......

Bette & Kim,
you'd better check your PC ::yes:: I just clicked on those funny smileys depicting your way to and from the ship. They linked me to the site where you got them from. This site requires you to install a software on your PC. THIS SOFTWARE CONTAINS A VIRUS!!!! Fortunately my system identified and blocked it. It is a trojan-type virus, which will spy out your PC and then send the data it obtained to the originator of the virus.

No, no engine, but an extremely long battery life. Lenny is talking about building her a go-kart. :earseek: He already has the frame and engine in the basement.

:D
I hope she has a push-bike or a tricycle, too ;)

Mary Jo, I had to read your post twice. At first I thought you were going to eat moose! (Or are you?)
Two-foxes, Hope you get rid of those pop-ups soon. Reminds me of a joke. Know what we use to call birth control pills? Popper-Stoppers!
Nancy, Have a fun Adventure on the riverboat.
Cathy, How is Ashlee doing?

Worked today, got home, took my dog to the vet, now I have to go buy Mark a Father's Day gift. He wants a digital camera. I have NO clue as to what kind to get him. Guess I'll have to go somewhere that has a $alesperson.

Our dog got attacked by another dog last week. He now has a drain in his face, and has to wear one of those lamp shade collars. We have to flush the wound 4x per day, and he can only have the collar off to eat.

Love the new pictures on the webpage!

Later,
Avé

Peter-

Thanks! It has stopped some of the pop ups.....however, considering we have the hi-speed cable internet, and it took forever to log on....something else is up, too! If you could be here right now! I have an ad minimized, but now it is talking to me....another diet patch "lose weight without starvation diets!" All I know it is that it is interfering with my daily updates here! Tim is convinced we have a virus.....I suppose it is about time we learn something about computers!

Ave-
So sorry to hear about your dog. Take good care of him! Orion, our 90 lb-German Shepard-with-no-tail is our boy. "Orion the dog faced boy!" Wow, I guess its time we really try to have some real kids!

Tim is convinced we have a virus.....

Probably not a virus. It's "more than likely" adware, spyware or scumware.

I have to routinely sponge off this kind of stuff when The Resident Teenager decides to surf through 'adult' sites or downloads new music/software, etc. It can also be installed by the ActiveX component of your Windows in something that's becoming more popular every day called a 'drive-by download'... you surf to a site and that causes their site to install this garbage.

The two free pieces of software that I use are:

1) Ad-Aware. www.lavasoft.com.
2) Spybot. www.safer-networking.org

Jim.

Hi Eric,

I know all about this company, the firm that does all my computer maintenance / repairs told me all about it. What we did was load a program that scans constantly and deletes / blocks anyone who tries to get into my sytem or see what I am doing. I am sure it is not perfect but so far searches I have done for any spyware software / tracking software show 0 activity. Thanks for your input. As far as Computer virus', they stink... People who create them should be drawn & quartered in my opinion.

Off to be lazy and have a snack for dinner, worked all day outside
on the housewe should definately have pictures to show you guys...

Bye, Kim

I use the two above that Jim mentioned plus these two:

http://www.webroot.com/wb/products/spysweeper/enterprise.php

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Using all three plus Norton Systemworks that includes Norton Anti-Virus and Zone Alarm Firewall has helped me keep my PC clean of adware, spyware, viruses and malware.

When I first installed all the above and scanned my PC, I was surprised at how much stuff they picked up. I make sure I scan my PC regularly to prevent problems.

Sure Pétér no problem. All you have to do is upload the pic to the DIS Picture Gallery (like you did with Shelby's pic). Instead of putting the pic of Maisy in your signature, just copy the URL in your message. Don't forget to put the "
" at the end (without quotes). This should work.

Kim,

this is the little bugger: "TrojanDropper.Win32.FunWeb.a" I just looked it up in the history of my virus-scanner.
How often do you update your system? Are you sure that you have the newest version?
I refresh my virus-updates at least twice a week, have a firewall installed, and scan my complete PC including my 240GB-diskspace once a month. It may sound paranoid, but so far I kept my system clean.

Peter & Jenn...

Of course Maisy can come too...Just like having kids...when you have four running around the house, what's a couple more ? ....lol

That what the first thing I asked Tim, "What sites have you been on!!!!????" But, he sincerly denies any wrong doing. Actually, now that you've said that, I did visit www.strangecosmos.com which is that web site that has all those funny/cute/strange/disturbing animal, accident, people pictures. (It is always the website referenced in those "insurance nightmare" joke emails or those cute animal pictures.) This all happened right after that!

I am at work today, which is a refreshing opportunity to enjoy my Dis with no annoying interruptions. I will be printing your very helpful posts and bringing them home!

Peter,

Maisy is one adorable puppy. I know I would never have been able to leave her when I saw her too.

About the pics, here is a link to the guidelines:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=332080

Yes you are over the limit since we are only allowed 400 pixels in any direction.

I resized the pics that you have in your signature. PM me your email address, and I'll send them to you. You can use them if you want, no big deal if you find another way to post them or if someone else has a better idea that what I did.

We're taking my Dad out for brunch so I won't be around, but I'll check later to see if you want me to send the pics to you.

Reneé

Love the picture Peter & Jenn....

As soon as I saw it I thought Maisy looks like she is winding up ready for a helicopter takeoff...

Very cute, look forward to seeing you on Tuesday..

Bye, Kim

Peter & Jenn,
this is a cute, little doggie ::yes:: Anja said you should bring her to the ship, she would walk her then ;)
