1 year old on cruise?

On our last cruise our kids were 8,4,2,1 and we had a BLAST! The 3 younger ones stayed with us almost exclusively and they had such a good time. Our 1 year old played in the ears of the Mickey Pool (of course we were always next to her) with all the other 1 year olds and loved it. Could always find something for her to eat and used Flounders 1 night so we could go to Palo's. Would never hesitate recommending taking a young one. Beware that your 4 year old might not use the clubs as much as they know the little one is with you and don't want to miss out! Ours would go for about 1 hour at a time but had a good time. Looking forward to going again this October!!!! don't forget your own sippie cups and bibs!

we went on the Wonder over NYE and our kids were 9,7,3,9.5 months. We all had a ball. THe nursery was wonderful, they have portacribs for you that fit nicely even in a cat. 11!!! so, go and have fun.

The same here, I took DD at 13 months and we had a blast, so much that we have booked another cruise for next month & she will be 18 months. DH and I traveled quite a bit before we had our little one so we really have tried to not let her slow us down. We still love to travel except now we travel as a family instead of a couple. We were very impressed with Flounder's, and plan use them again. Also I know they have strollers on board but we brought a stroller along with us that DD is used to napping in so naps were no big deal, she took them everywhere, so we really never went back to the room just for her to nap. (Just a little tip)

We cruised on the Magic at the end of August. At the time my older DS was almost 4 and baby DS was 17 months. We had a great time. Our cabin steward got us a diaper genie for our room. Baby DS was in his climbing stage and climbed right out of the pack n play they provide as a crib. Our older DS ended up sleeping in the upper bunk (it had guard rails) and loved it. We didn't use the ladder as we did not want him going up and down himself. Baby DS slept in the lower bed and again our cabin steward came through (he was great i just can't remember his name!!). He got us a bed railing so we didn't have to worry about him falling out. They were the same Graco ones we used when we switched our older son to a bed. Our older DS did NOT like the club. I think it was partly because he didn't know anyone and there was one Aussie male CM who was so RUDE! ANyway since it was our family trip we never planned on using the club a lot anyway. In August there was a ton of kids because school was out. Unfortunately too many parents checked their parental responsibilites at the door when they boarded. Kids running wild all over the place! I do not enjoy policing other people's children but when 10 and 12 yo's were in Mickey's ears (they have 8 inches of water!) I felt I had no choice. I was not about to have my little ones injured. I would recommend going while school is in session if you can. I think it will minimize the number of older kids. We are thinking about sailing again but will probably go on a cruise line that will take little DS (now 2) in a club. We are looking at the Carnival Pride. Otherwise we will wait until he turns 3 and do Disney again.
