DM & each picked our favorite 4 TS restaurants.Mines are all character "buffet" type meals. DM picked things like Le Cellier,Grand Floridian,Rose & Crown and another one I cant recall at this point. I dont eat red meat, I'm allergic to shrimp, and lactose intolerant to top it off. So in places like Le Cellier the only thing I could eat off the menu is the chicken caesar salad.Costs about $10. It just seems so silly to waste a TS on this !

Would they let us use 1 TS for her and pay OOP for my entree?
IF it is allowed, how do we do that (ask for separate checks?) and would this be frowned upon ?

I'm not cheap, but it just seems like such a waste to use a TS for a $12 meal when I could be paying that cash & keeping the TS for places she & I can both enjoy. :confused3

As long as you are both adults, you shouldn't encounter any unusual resistence to what you suggest.

We were able to use credits and pay OOP at the same meal many times last week. We were with a large party of 13 at every meal (3 different rooms/families). At many restaurants we were able to use credits for some people and pay for others. We had more TS meals than credits, so we had to pay OOP for some things along the way. We never had a problem...just tell the server ahead of time what you plan to do. Have a great trip!

This shouldn't be a problem for you, as long as you can manage to fit in one or two extra TS meals during your trip. It's probably more common than you might think among people who want to share because they don't want to eat 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 desserts at every meal.

But don't sell your mom's restaurants short, either. Most places, especially if you're not going during the incredibly busy free dining period, should be able to accomodate you. I'm a vegetarian (and so don't eat red meat or shellfish, either), and had two of my favorite meals at Le Cellier and Rose and Crown. I'm sure both of those could have been made vegan (and thus, lactose-intolerant-friendly), particularly if I had called the restaurant a day or two ahead of time to request it. Don't be afraid to ask, or make special requests. In most cases (especially where allergies and intolerances are involved), the chefs are willing and eager to come up with something that will make you happy.
