The criteria I have so far...

'Atmosphere'

No characters

1 ts credit on the DDP

Somewhere quite easy to book as the 180 day window has been and goooone

They don't like spicy food

One parent doesn't like salmon, chicken, beef, seafood, pork, pasta or pizza

One parent has had a transplant and so can't eat pate, undercooked meat or eggs, most cheese except cheddar, miso, homemade mayo and other sauces.

(Tbf these are the same parent...)

Other parent doesn't want to go to Disney springs because they find it too intense.

Ideas?

If they are okay with being in a park, Liberty Tree Tavern at MK might be a good option. The turkey & mashed potatoes is really good and you can get with no sauces.

The Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian has an elegant feel to it that makes for a nice dinner with some simple option. They can always ask for no sauces and salad dressings on the side.

I recommend Grand Floridian Cafe too, it has a calm, but elegant feel.
My picky family enjoyed trails end, but, I don't know how parents would feel about it.

Olivia's would be my choice also! After dinner you can take a nice boat ride to disney springs and back (without leaving the boat).

Thank you, LTT sounds like a good fit. They also ummed and ahhed about Golden horseshoe but I told them they would have to skip the chipotle dressing on the salad..

With the "One parent doesn't like salmon, chicken, beef, seafood, pork, pasta or pizza" - what do they eat?... are they vegetarian? or vegan? It might be easier if we know what they will eat... and is this a dietary restriction or more of a preference to what they won't eat....

Grand Floridan Cafe was the 1st option that pop into my head...

I would not count out Disney Springs... if you opt for lunch... during the week... most times it will be not overwhelming as on the weekends... Boathouse is very nice and very accommodating, my mom has dietary issue and they were very kind and worked with us... Art Smith Home coming is another spot...

Coral Reef Restaurant is another thought... that we find a bit more relaxing... we love all the sea-life that you get to watch while dinning... At Coral Reef, the chef had prepared a pan seared fish filet, no sauce, (he did put it on the side), and some potatoes simply roasted...and it was perfect for my mom...

Any of the Resort TS... might fit the bill...

As well quick service at the resort have some pretty good meals, that you customize...

I have a food allergy and often the chef will come out and speak to me.. When we have my mom dinning with us, we always ask for the chef, and have really never had a problem getting a nice meal that she was happy with, plus fit into her dietary needs so she does not get sick...

I would spend some time with the menu's and maybe even print or send them to the parents in questions and let them tell you what will work...

I would help to know what exactly you ARE looking for. I am thinking that if salmon is a no, more exotic fish is too, and in chicken is out so is turkey, ect so knowing what kinds of foods they do enjoy would be really helpful in making a recommendation. Where do they enjoy eating out at home?

As far as salmon beef etc it is a preference, as far as certain cheese and undercooked eggs that is because of the transplant. They are veering towards vegetarian now tho, which is making it more difficult!
I will pitch grand floridian cafe to them.
So far they are doing jiko, bona, sanaa( not for taste, because we are staying at akl) coral reef, chefs de France and 50s pt

They dont eat out much at home (or at all) for this reason, but they will eat risotto if it's made without parmesan (transplant no no) they will eat soup, mushrooms, most other vegetables, bread, they will very occasionally eat Chinese food but not often as type 1 diabetic and some of the sauces have a lot of sugar in them.
Due to the diabetes they have a lot of digestion issues and I think that is where the food fear comes from.
Sorry if there isn't much info, I keep remembering new things 🙈

With a limited diet there's not much on any regular menus but I'm always reading about how accommodating WDW is with food, they even request you call ahead with requirements for some ADRs so they can prepare.

I'd pick a couple restaurants that look good for the whole party, then call to ask what can be prepared for the restrictions. It'll help to offer some dishes that parent does enjoy as examples.

Almost all menus are starting to offer, plant based options... so you should be able to find something everywhere... I would look based on the need of the person with the transplant, to narrow down the options even more...

While I know you said no character meals... some of the buffets offer really good options... so I would just look at it to see... as well it will give you a broader selections of choices and everyone can find something to eat... again you can speak to a chef... and they will help you along...

As others have said, I think your best bet in this case is going to be to contact dining ahead of time and see what accommodations can be made. Disney is very good about working with you on allergies and special diets. DH has a shellfish allergy and they have been great with that.

They're going to have a hard time at Jiko and Sanaa, I think.
