I am a solo traveler, for the most part. I've been making my ADR's for one person. However, I found a friend is going to join me on a couple of nights.
When I've gone to make new reservations, I've found better times for 2 people as opposed to 1 person. Which, to me, doesn't make sense, since I am still using one table.
Would it be wrong of me to book two people if I find a better time and then cancel a person when I get there?

All the OP needs to do is tell them that due to the limitations of the reservation system, the reservation had to be made for 2, but there will be only 1 person dining.
