We are currently booked for the week after Thanksgiving in a 2 bedroom standard at Kidani. We are a family of 5 and loved the 1 bedroom last year, but this year we are staying for 8 nights and my husband thought it would be nice to have more space. We have enogh points without borrowing since I banked some last year so that's not the issue, but I still feel like it's a lot of points. I know we fit in a 1 bedroom just fine - kids are 11, 8 and 5.5 at time of travel. I would like to save the points and possible take 2 shorter trips next year with the extra points.

We'll be doing a lot in the parks as we've never been there for the holidays so not much time will be spent in the room.

What do you guys think? Will we feel too cramped over 8 nights?

Thanks!

If you want to save a few points why not see if you can change to a value 2 bedroom at Jambo House. It won't give you as much room as a regular 2 bedroom but more than a 1 bedroom.

We were plenty comfortable in a 1BR at Kidani in June with 5 of us (kids 12, 9, 8). The sq. footage in Kidani is bigger than most 1BRs. We could even move around fairly easily with both the sofa and chair beds open.

As said Kidani is really big for a 1 BR and you get 2 full baths, I think you would be fine.

Since you were comfortable on a prior trip, then I might give the longer trip a try too. The 1 bedrooms are still really spacious compared to a standard hotel room, and if the 8 day stay works out, then you would know you could book that again in the future to maximize points for longer or additional trips! I know our family of 4 would be quite comfortable in a 1 bedroom for an extended stay and I believe even if there were 5 of us we would still find the 1 bedroom worked well, especially if a lot of time was to be spent in the parks. Have a great trip, and happy planning!

I vote for the 1 bedroom. Bank some of this year's points for another trip next year.

However, if it is cold next Christmas like it has been this past winter, you could spend more time in the room than planned. Then it might be nice to send the kids off to bed while you and DH have the living room to yourselves.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses! I think I'll be calling for the 1 bdrm in the am - it will save me 56 points to use on future trips! I think we'll be fine - won't know untill we try, right?
