I don't freak about a mouse in the house. We live in a rural area, next to the woods, and this is the time of the year that God's little creatures try to come in for warmth and the smorgasbord left on the floor my my 19-month old DGS.

However, I have one little visitor that had been evading me for 4 days. DS had it in the bathroom and he escaped. He is getting brave and comes out in the daytime, with us in a nearby room. He is a little Houdini and I'm tired of playing his game.

So, I just put out 14 glue boards with Rice Krispies after everybody went to bed near his favorite haunts.

It's on like DonkeyKong!

:lmao: You Go Girl!!!!

But our glue traps didn't work. Or the humane trap. Or trying to catch them by hand (not mine, DH's!) . We finally had to break down and get the snap traps. We didn't want to but the last 2 of the little suckers were apparently much smarter than their brothers and sisters that we did catch, so they had to be eliminated. :darth:

"You only THINK you have ONE mouse. LOL"

Yeah, I know but we have seen this one several times and know what he looks like. I'm guessing he invited his family is for Thanksgiving dinner, too, but we have not seen them.

BTW, we use the Orkin glue boards and they are better than anything you can buy. Since we live in a wooded area, Orkin comes once a month to spray and they always bring the glue boards.

I purchased some last week but the mouse got off of it. I could see a little fur and the glue was messed up but it was not strong enough to hold him.

Orkin glue boards are great. With little ones in the house, I put out the glue boards at night and move them before the kiddies get up. If I had the spring traps, I could not do that.

Glue boards... are a slow death.

I was thinking the same thing. I hope that if one uses such a product, they have the guts to end the suffering and not just toss it out alive into the trash. It can take days to die of dehydration.:sad2:

I perfer no mice in my house. Good Luck OP :thumbsup2

I HATE the glue boards. While I don't want mice around me, I can't stand to see any animal suffering.

We are overrun with mice at the office. We have the glue traps all over the place. A mouse got in one on Tuesday morning and screeched and "screamed" for over 2 hours. It bled too. It was awful.

Even a snapping trap is more humane than tossing a living thing in the garbage. I prefer no mice in my house, too, which is why we use a humane trap. If someone has to kill the mouse to get it out of the house, at least have the guts to finish the deed instead of letting it suffer for days in the trash.

This is probably too much trouble for most glue trap users, but I thought I read on these boards somewhere that you can take the mouse out to the woods and spray Pam on the glue board where it's feet are stuck and it will release it. Has anyone heard of this?

My sister's BIL tried and true method is to use Q-tips and a snap trap.

He cuts the Q-Tip in half and places it in the snap trap. Since they are looking for bedding the rodent pulls on the Q Tip and bam!

We keep having them in the garage.:headache: We just put out snap traps without anything in them in the walkway. Works like a charm.

Our cats get ours. They have gotten 2 since we moved in in August. Now they have been standing guard in the kitchen staring at the dishwasher...I'm thinking it's under there.

Got him and yes..... I did not let him suffer. He was only on the glue board less than 20 minutes because DH checked before he left for work and the boards were empty. 20 minutes later, he was there. I think a cat would have ended his life, too, but we have allergies that prevent us having one in the house.

I like the snap traps with a little peanut butter. My dad uses a piece of candy bar, like a Snickers (and eats the rest). :goodvibes

We lived in the middle of a farm once and they were bad. I told DH that I was going to get him a little mouse stamper so he could stamp on the wall every time he got one. I even got my dog to start killing them. :rotfl:

There was a HUGE rat that lived in the garage once. We used it for storage only. I've never seen DH run in fear before or since. He came flying out of the garage with "NO ONE GO IN THERE. EVER!" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: He was even afraid to go and set traps so he bought rat poison, opened the door and threw it in. He said it was about the size of a cat. :scared1: Next time that door was opened was when we moved a year later. :rotfl2:
