1 more stroller question

Ok, so several people have told me they have parked their stroller at each "land"...walk w/in the land....& then retrieve the stroller before going to the next "land".

Now a logistical question - can you go from land to land w/o going to the entrance of the 1st land? Meaning - going in the back door so to speak? If so, does leaving your stroller parked put a damper on your route you take? Especially if you change your mind to go a different way?

Hope that made sense....

The only "Land" we park our stroller in is Fantasyland because it is so "small" and the rides are all kind of packed right together. Otherwise, we always take it with us from ride to ride or at least the same general area that we are going to be.

It can be a pain to retrieve it, if you don't want to retrace steps.

But for us it's MORE of a pain to bring it and park it at each ride.

So for FL we put it near Dumbo or the Carrousel, in Tomorrowland near Star Tours has proven useful, with ToonTown over near Roger Rabbit's works for us. Adventureland...well, near Indy is obvious, and there's not many more places for strollers there anyway. And in NOS near POTC works, or near HM (but we've noticed they move those around more than other places). Critter Country we park in between Hungry Bear and Pooh.

We don't do that in DCA other than in bug's land, where we park near Heimlich's Chew Chew Train (one of us parks, the other races after our 3 year old who would ride that ride ALL DAY if one of us would agree to sit with him!) and leave it there until we pry him out of there, LOL. We keep the stroller with us through the rest of DCA b/c it's spread out.

I usually play it by ear, and have done different things. For EE we definitely leave the kiddo in the stroller as we race (walk purposefully) to FL. At that point we usually throw (gently set) the stroller outside Peter Pan, and then race (walk purposefully) to the rest of the FL rides. At that point it can vary...we have left the stroller near the Teacups - then hit IASW and Toon Town - retrieving the stroller on the way back. If we are headed to the other side of the park, we will bring the stroller. On another day we actually let the stroller at the front train entrance - rode the train, and did not retrieve the stroller until later that afternoon - using the train to move the tired kiddo back to the train. This definitely allows the stroller when we walk back to the room at night, and it is convenient if we need it. (We also only bring a cheapo umbrella stroller that is pretty run down - so if someone decided they need it worse then us so be it!!!)

IMO, if you can do without the stroller do it. So much easier. When we first went my youngest had just turned 3. I thought she would need the stroller. She never did. The only day we got one was our last day because I knew we would be jumping around a lot and the older kids rode in it more than she did.

I posted this question earlier - stroller or not & so many replied that they were happy they brought it. My thing is a 3 yo who doesn't nap mid-day might be a big grouch later on & a possibility of carrying him back to the motel does not sound appealing when we're all dragging. I just like to be prepared. ;)

We have found a stroller extends our time at the parks by 3-6 hours... So nice to not have that afternoon meltdowns..

We use ours as much as we can and love it.

We got one with DD when we went this March and are so glad we got one. I actually purchased one from WalMart before we left, then had it at the airport and for Sea World, too. (She had pretty much outgrown her's already and I didn't have one.) I was able to get all but $10 back when I sold it! Whoo hoo. I liked having mine with me, that way we didn't have to carry a really tired child back to the hotel room (with the disney ones, you can't go past the esplenade.) I also liked having all the "stuff" with us without having to get a locker or go back to our room. We always had the sweatshirts and fans, etc. with us.
Anyway, to the real question at hand. There's only two places I "park" the stroller. One is in Fantasyland. The other is Adventureland. We do Jungle and Indy and Treehouse and Pirates and then grab the stroller again for going back further. Fantasyland just doesn't make sense to go the few feet between rides.
All of this, is of course, dependent upon whether the child is asleep or not! :rotfl:
