1)hold out for better tx offer? 2)airport hotel

Need advice:

1. We have a flight home at the San Diego airport on a Tues. in mid-Sept at 11 a.m. Do you advise driving up that morning from Anaheim/Disneyland or go the night before and stay at an airport hotel? If the latter, which hotel for cheap sleep since we'll get there very late after a day at the parks?

2. I keep seeing ads for DL/DCA park tickets "buy 3 day hopper, get 4th day free" and the like. Is it likely from historical patterns that those types of deals will be available closer to my mid-Sept trip or shall I just buy now? I saw getawaytoday offers a 4 day ticket with 2 magic mornings. . .

We're WDW old-timers, but it's our first trip to the sunny California parks - can't wait and I'm planning like the type-A I am known to be!

Ticket deals usually occur in the early part of the year (Jan - April).

The fall often has resort deals like stay 3 nights and get the 4th free.

I wouldn't expect any ticket deals for the fall.
