So, we are Disney Peeps my DH received a trip through his work for a short trip to Orlando. We are staying at a timeshare property and mainly doing Disney like normal, but since we will have a rental car we thought we could give up 1 day to do Universal. I did purchase park to park. I care most about WWOHP and DH wants to do that as well, but he also wants to ride about 5-6 rides in each park in the other sections of the parks.... he is a bigger guy so we won't be doing to Hulk or any roller coasters that he might have issues with getting on the ride.

Is this doable? And what is the best plan of attack when it comes to busy rides either early or late.... We plan to be at the entrance at the opening time. What time should we be there?

Thanks for the help!

Kinda depends on what the rides are. Also, as a bigger guy, he may potentially have issue with the WWoHP rides, specifically Gringott's has a combo lap/leg restraint that can be a struggle and Forbidden Journeys and Dragon Challenge both have shoulder restraints (FJ does have the "big" seats, on the ends of every row).

I am also planning our first trip to Universal and Islands of Adventures and was wondering if you get everything in with one full day at each park.... any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You can do WWOHP in one day. As for adding ten to twelve more rides, there are a lot of variables there, but in general I think you could do it if you have Express Pass and are willing to move fast and make it a very long day. I would suggest prioritizing what's most important and what you could skip if you ran out of time/energy.

Get there before rope drop and go immediately to one of the HP sections then take the Hogwarts Express and do the other section. After that I would prioritize the rides (so likely makes sense to do the HP section that is not in the same park as the high priority other rides first). We used the express pass when we were there in April so while I don't know what the crowd levels are like when you are going, we did find it made a pretty big difference in how quickly we were able to get everything done. If I was in your shoes, I would get the express pass, as long as there are enough rides you want to do to make it worth it, of course.

We are going July 22 which is a Tuesday..... Our plan was to be at US front gate at rope drop go to WWOHP 1st thing to ride Gringotts. Then we would do 6 rides in US which included: Twister, Revenge of the Mummy, ET, Transformers, Simpsons, Men in Black and then go back to WWOHP Diagon Alley to look around, lunch at Leaky Caldron, Olivanders and hog warts Express to IoA. Once he got to IoA we would go ride 3 things: Jurassic Park, Spider-Man and Petradon flyers. Then go back to WWOHP Hogsmeade to look around and do Journey, etc... at the end of the day.... If time remands take Hogwarts a Express back to Diagon Alley for more looking around.

Thoughts? I have done touring plans for this day and it says it's doable. I'm just not sure if I trust it.

That's going to be really tight. I'd take Pteranodon Flyers off the list for sure. That ride will have a very long line in the middle of the day in the summer.

It's don't know the makeup of your group. So, first off remember Pteranadon Flyers has a strange height requirement. Guests over 56" must be accompanied by a guest 36"-56". So, make sure you have the proper group before riding. Second, I too am on the bigger and taller side, you can see a picture of me with Shrek to the left. If you DH can ride FJ, he can probaby ride Dragon Challenge and Hulk in the "Big Boy" seats in rows 3 and 6. I could just ride everything. FJ was the biggest challenge because of the moving walkway and needing to get secured in such a short time.

As far as touring goes. I would swap up things slightly. at USF I would hit ROTM, Transformers, at a minimum and possibly Simpsons, and E.T. before heading into Diagon Alley. During the first hour of the day you should be able to get through those with "minimal wait". Gringotts will often have a bubble at RD that shortens a little bit later before growing again.

As other's have said Pteranadon is odd, in that an adult can't ride unless they have an accompanying child of the appropriate height. I tend to avoid the jumping around so much so would likely do at minimum Transformers, then Mummy on the way to Gringott's, and possibly do 1)ET, 2)Simpsons, 3)Transformers, 4)Mummy, then head into Diagon just to save time walking back and forth, do Gringotts then lunch if you are ready for it, otherwise explore the shops a while, hop Hogwarts Express over to IOA, start in Hogsmeade first and work around the park that direction. Also, there are probably some people who love Twister, but you should know it is NOT a ride, it is a standing exhibition (show) with a slightly shaking floor/special effects. I highly recommend Leaky Cauldron's food, both breakfast and lunch/dinner are good there. Also highly recommend getting an ice cream at Florian's in Diagon.

I will take the Ptranadon flyers off the list since it is just DH and myself on this trip. The only reason I put Gringotts 1st thing is bc I had heard it would be a shorter wait than at lunch time.
We had planned to eat dinner at Margaritaville around 7pm.... Is this doable after the day we have planned?

You should be able to do most of that stuff. Just keep an open mind and watch the wait time board. You may be able to squeeze some other stuff in there. I'd do as quick a lunch as possible and then do your longer meal after the parks close. We really enjoyed the Ploughman's platter at Leaky Cauldron for lunch. It was quick and really good.

I would get there for park open and get the hogwarts express from the studios to Hogsmead, it is a great way to start the experience.
I would then complete everything in Hogsmead before heading back on the express to diagon alley, I was there at a peak time over Christmas and found getting there early and staying all day I completed everything I wanted to. I also found at around 6pm a lot of people left and it was quieter.

You do need a whole day to get as much done as possible though.

I would recommend trying the Orange or Lemon custom drinks they sell only in HP world they are to die for!!

We just a did a one day, both parks trips a few months ago. I have a trip repot, linked in my signature.

We got there before opening and stayed until after close. We had such a great time! We definitely missed stuff (for example, didn't watch any shows) but it didn't *feel* like we missed out. We'd do it again.
