1 day help needed

We will be visiting DL for the day on Mon, Sept 30. Kind of last minute trip to the west coast. Im surprised that the park hours are 8 am to 11 pm. That seems late to me...is there a special event going on? DH has never been but has been to DW many times. How do we prioritize Galaxy edge? We will definitely make rope drop.

Halloween Time Superthread 2019: "Oogie Boogie Bash" Party to Be Held in DCA ONLY! -- you'll be visiting during Halloween Time (9/06-10/31) -- a very popular and busy time at DLR -- lots of great decorations, special food and special merchandise, Halloween parties at DCA (separate ticket needed for these), HMH, GOTG:Monsters After Dark, Cars Land decorated for Halloween, etc.
Mon., 9/30, is the last day of MSEP at DL, so Disney is expecting crowds to bid the parade goodbye. And Mondays can be busy days. Making RD is a good idea, use those morning hours to your advantage, look into buying MP ("Maxpass/Fastpass: an overview and some strategy" by @Skyegirl1999 - www.disboards.com/threads/maxpass-fastpass-an-overview-and-some-strategy.3726246/).
